Sunset at H A L F D O M E from Glacier Point, Yosemite California USA.
Half Dome is a granite dome at the eastern end of Yosemite Valley in Yosemite National Park, California.
Rising nearly 5,000 feet above Yosemite Valley and 8,800 feet above sea level, Half Dome is a Yosemite icon.
The whole landscape was a complete washout this particular night with absolutely zero colour in the sky but we decided to hang on a little longer and like so many sunsets I have photographed there was a burst of colour right at the last minute as the sun appeared behind us to cast a bright pinky purple across the Half Dome peak infant of us...absolutely incredible and well worth the hike up!

D E A T H V A L L E Y - Road to nowhere
Seeing as its currently lashing it down in Bristol I thought it would be appropriate to post a pic from Death Valley where its quite the opposite! We stayed in Death Valley for one night on our honeymoon on our way to Yosemite and despite being in the middle of the desert there was a very green 18 hole golf course! Very surreal!
Death Valley was typical of what you see in films, straight roads with nothing but desert either side of you for 100's of miles with mountains in the distance which never seem to get closer. Strangely it had the most prepared smooth roads out of 2,500 miles we clocked up in America!
