Rachelle from the Community Readers Reading Challenge in Melbourne, VIC, Australia, sent a question-and-answer form for me to complete about my new book titled My Bible and Me, and here are a couple of questions from that form. Question 2
What ultimately inspired you to turn your decades of reflection on Scripture into a book?
Answer: Now, as an author preparing to write my seventh book, I found myself looking back upon that lifelong journey. This book, My Bible and Me, is my attempt to share a simpler understanding of the relationship between God's Word and my own life. It is not intended to be a theological study or a scholarly work. Rather, it is the story of one man's walk with the Bible and how its teachings shaped me through the years. I believe that people who know God and those who do not know God or his Son, if they read this book, will become more knowledgeable and hopefully accept his teaching with the help of this simplified version.
Question 3
Your book approaches the New Testament from a very personal perspective rather than as an academic theological study. Why was that distinction important to you?
Answer: I am in no way a theologian or Bible scholar, but someone who loves to read the bible upon occasion, looking for personal guidance and answers to life. So, when writing this book, I desired to make it informative and pleasing for the reader who was looking for the same thing. Available at

Just received a book review of my book My Bible and Me by Chuck Morgan, a Colorado based author best known for his award winning Buck Taylor Crime Series, which follows Colorado Bureau of Investigation Agent Buck Taylor in gritty, fast paced mountain crime stories. He noted: I recently had the opportunity to learn about My Bible and Me, and I wanted to personally reach out to tell you how much I appreciated the sincerity and personal nature of the book. What particularly caught my attention was that you didn't approach Scripture as a theological study or academic examination, but instead as something much more intimate—a lifelong relationship between one man, his faith, and God's Word. What stood out to me immediately was your acknowledgment that your relationship with the Bible hasn't always been one of simple certainty. Sometimes Scripture spoke clearly, while at other times it presented mysteries and questions that required patience and reflection. I found that perspective particularly relatable because genuine faith is often shaped not only by the things we understand, but also by the questions that continue to make us think and grow. I was also intrigued by the fact that the book grew out of a recent reading of the New Testament, when you approached familiar Scriptures with fresh eyes and began creating outlines of each book while recording the verses and lessons that spoke most deeply to you. That process makes the book feel especially personal. Rather than simply telling readers what the Bible says, you're inviting them to see what you discovered while engaging with it yourself. I also appreciate your decision to write in simple, accessible language. A personal spiritual reflection doesn't need complicated terminology to be meaningful. Sometimes the most powerful observations are the ones expressed plainly and honestly. Chuck Morgan
