Wet tan Mountain Lions getting groomed and boxed. One had a strange small area of solid white fur, about half the size of a dime.
Removing pine sap is a fairly common thing with Cats and Elk...

New price list was emailed today. Current customers please check your email and print or save this, effective 6/1/26.
All skins we currently have in our possession will be charged by last years(current) price list, and will be completed, no matter the type.
I have removed just about all heavy skins, such as moose, elk, and all African from the new price list.
I know it is a little "inconvenient" breaking up shipments, and sending skins to multiple tannery's, and I greatly appreciate the added effort it may cause.

I probably didn't need to say this, but I wanted to make sure everyone understood why I am doing this. I have reached the point in my career where I need to lighten up the load some..Shaving elk we're not easy at 25yrs old, and they certainly are not easy at 62!

Hopefully we will continue to receive your much needed and appreciated support throughout the year to come, even with the abbreviated variety of skins we will accept. Please pm us if you didn't get a price list, and you would like one.

Working on big thick NC 7 footers this week..you haven't really shaved a bear until you have shaved 20+ pounds of corium off one of these jokers. Almost as wide as they are long..

Folding skins for shipping.
Once skins are salted and dried, as time passes, they become brittle, and can easily be cracked and broken.
This is just a FYI thing, and something very few people would ever think about.
The way you dry skins is important, and unnecessary catastrophic damages can and do happen. Boxing salted skins needs a little thought as well. Just food for thought.

I saw a post in a large Taxidermy group about thick mtn lions coming back from a tannery, and many replies suggested that was "normal"? Its not..
Every cat that leaves here is taken down to the MAX, and will be shaved down as far as it is safely possible to do so. EVERYWHERE, legs face, neck and all! No edges that won't hold a stitch...
It will also be returned with every whisker and claw that it arrived with! I even take the time to shave around and in between the two buds in the cheeks.
That nose has been split as well..video doesn't show it.
