PLEASE READ the current price before sending any skins. (Guidelines also)
We no longer except moose and elk, or any African..if they get shipped here, they will then in turn cost you for me to ship elsewhere.
Please keep in mind that I am not "cherry picking" the easier skins..

I have been shaving full time, 7-8 hours a day(10+ hours when younger), for close to 40 years.
Its not that I can't do them anymore, its the fact that I "shouldn't" do them any more.

A skin like this LS Stone sheep is difficult to shave, especially the face..

Layers of meat and fat left by the outfitter, turn a already difficult task into a nightmare!
The meat left behind and then salted, draws the face up, creating extra, unnecessary difficulty, by hiding wrinkles, etc..wrinkles that if shaved over, will create a instant serious damage in the face!

You will see me change cut direction multiple times, making sure every cut is deliberate, and following changes in hair patterns. Its so thin, just accidentally touching the skin with the knife in a wrong area, can create a "false cut".

Some RE-TANS from Spain..Had absolutely ZERO STRETCH.. 2- ibex, and a Chamois cape

Iron somewhere in their process, weather it be tannage or salt, reacted with the pickle, and formed Iron tanate..(the black skins)

Charles Charles did his own research and figured out by using oxalic acid as a chelating agent, he could reverse the bond of the Iron tanate, and remove it from the skins all together!

All Iron removed, skins tanned again properly, with stretch and very little memory.

Iron tanate left in skins can eventually lead to rapid degradation of collagen, just fyi...

A couple of skins from a group of African Charles just tanned..
They are cutting everything from overseas entirely too long these days, imo.
