So this week I’ve tuned up a few mixers. I was shocked to see a 2021 Artisan had hardly any grease. So today I opened up my own 2021 Artisan and again found very little grease. It’s disturbing to see what is coming from the factory now days. In my posted pictures you’ll see the difference in the quantity of what used to be the standard amount of grease in the tilt head mixers. I don’t believe newer is better. Contact me if you’d like me to add grease to your 2019- current mixer. I’m sure they don’t have enough. 🙁

Had a customer who wanted a color change. She brought me her Aqua Sky color mixer and wanted a deep sage in a satin finish rather than the typical high gloss.

This is a pristine kitchenaid Ultra Power mixer that was in storage. No signs of use. I regreased and inspected the gears. (As recommended when kept in storage) It has an upgraded glass bowl and 3 be**er attachments. It’s priced at $220.

This mixer came to me with the motor running but the planetary(be**er shaft) not turning. I opened it up to find liquid floating in the gear chamber which had emulsified the grease into a nasty mess. Also appeared to have mold spores growing.
I found the stripped worm gear which was frozen up.
Turns out the owner had made tomato juice with an off brand juicer and that juice leaked into the gear chamber soaking into all the fiber spacer/washers causing the gears to lock up.

I had to thoroughly clean the gears, the gear chamber and whole mixer. Then treated the gears with a rust inhibitor before re-assembling the mixer. Fortunately none of the electronics were damaged and she’s running great now.
