We are excited to put the spotlight on one of our Thursday morning sessions, "Leading Difficult Conversations in the Workplace." Kurt Wassink will be using his HR expertise to address a challenging issue that nearly all employers are currently facing.

It is no secret that employers more than ever are struggling to attract and retain talent in this tight labor market. As a result, employers are faced with the dilemma of whether to lower expectations and standards when it comes to employee performance and acceptable workplace behaviors. In this session, we will discuss how even in this tight labor market, you can still hold employees accountable and have difficult conversations with employees to ensure solid performance and employee productivity is still being achieved. The goal of this session is to provide participants with effective and meaningful ways to lead these difficult conversations and provide conflict resolution strategies during this unusual time of worker shortages.

• Responsible for entering time and expenses in ConnectWise as they occur
• System documentation maintenance and review in ConnectWise
• Communication with customers as required
• Work with the Service Desk Dispatcher to ensure requests are routed to the proper resource to be resolved quickly and efficiently
• Escalate service requests that require engineer level support

To be a successful Service Desk Technician, you will have the following:

• BA/BS/MBA/MS preferred but not required, preferably in computer science or a related field
• 5+ Years of IT or related experience
• Advanced understanding of operating systems, business applications, printing systems and network systems
• Interpersonal skills: such as telephone skills, communication skills, active listening, and customer-care
• Ability to work in a team and communicate effectively
• Ability to multi-task and adapt to changes quickly
• Technical awareness: ability to appropriately match resources to technical issues
• Service awareness of all organization’s key services for which support is being provided
• Understand support tools, techniques, and how technology is used to provide services
• Typing skills to ensure quick and accurate entry of service request details
• Self-motivated with the ability to work in a fast-moving environment
