In 1970, the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) was passed in the United States. That same year, the first Earth Day was held as a national ‘teach-in’ nationwide. The photo featured was taken at Dunn Meadow in Bloomington, Indiana on the first Earth Day in 1970. The theme “Our power, our planet” is a reminder of the importance in advancing more sustainable energy and to protect the world that we share. 🌎
