Hi, my name is Bruce Kelly the owner and operator of Shooter 1 Photography. How many times have you been hustling and bustling about your business and something or someone catches your eye? Kind of makes you say “WOW”…. My goal is to capture, reveal, and preserve those moments and images. I have been a “picture taker” for about 15 years. Over the last 10 years or so, I have

made the transition from taken pictures to a “Photographer”, capturing and creating memorable images thru the fine art of PHOTOGRAPHY. I have had the privilege of being mentored and formally trained by great photographers such as ROLANDO GOMEZ of Garage glamour. I am willing to work with practically anyone, from the well seasoned pro, the budding amateur putting a portfolio together, even those who are not sure but would like to try, even if it is just for a few personal shots. Great Read.... happens often

I have a question for photographers a friend of my has been doing photography as a hobby really off and on for awhile and did a TFP shoot with a girl 2yrs ago now she wants her bikini pics removed as she is now married and now attends church so his did being nice well the other day she said now she want all pictures removed of her period which are all PG pics in just a dress with her car, he told her that they did it as a TFP shoot and sent her over 80 edits from it. She posted them like crazy all over FB the past couple years and saying how she loved them. He advised her that he need some pics from the shoot as it was TFP and all the hours and time he had in doing the shoot and edits. She then replied back demanding the be removed period as she was not paid or given cd and not contract was signed saying the could be displayed publicly and is now set a deadline to be removed or else other steps will be taken! Can you give me your opinion of this on if she has a legal right to do so

OK this is a little advice to my fundraisers and other not for profit organizations who may be soliciting "free" work from a photographer for their for sale project.

1. When you speak to a photographer remember that he is in business and has regular equipment, operation and maintenance costs. So approach him as you would any other business.

2. Most importantly, understand that in business you are either providing a service for pay, advertisement, service in kind... or you truly identify with the cause and just want to support. If it's for free then your sales pitch must be really good....

3. Consider whether or not you have hired him before and now you are calling in the free card. Also consider whether you have hired other photographers and paid them for the same project, but now you want him to do it for free...... he may feel insulted and equate your solicitation of his services "for free" as a value of his services.... I know you would never do that..... So think before you solicit "free" work......
