A clear conversation ends with a clear plan: what will happen, when it will happen, and when you’ll check in.

Step 5 of the C.L.E.A.R. method: Review the next step. Save this series for your next routine work conversation.

Hard conversations are easier when you start with facts.

Write down what happened and when. Keep it specific: β€œThe closing checklist was not finished Monday and Wednesday.”

Skip assumptions. Facts keep the conversation fair and focused on the work.

Step 1 of the C.L.E.A.R. method: Start with facts.

What fact would you have ready before a tough conversation?

Have you ever needed to talk with a team member about a work issue, but struggled to find the right words?

A calm, clear conversation can help everyone understand what happened and what needs to happen next.

I use the C.L.E.A.R. method to plan routine accountability talks:

C β€” Collect the facts
L β€” Link the issue to the work
E β€” Explain what needs to happen
A β€” Ask and listen
R β€” Review the next step

It’s a simple way to stay focused, hear the other person’s view, and agree on a clear plan.

Over the next five days, I’ll share one step at a time, with examples for healthcare teams and practice leaders.

Which part of a work conversation feels hardest for you?

Transformation doesn’t happen by accident. It happens when leaders are willing to step back, identify what isn’t working, and build systems that support both the team and the mission.

From overwhelmed operations and communication breakdowns to structure, clarity, and accountability strong leadership changes the environment.

At STR Cache Co. Leadership & Consulting, we help healthcare practices move from constantly reacting to operating with intention.

Less chaos. More clarity. Better systems. Stronger leadership.

STR Cache Co. | Leadership Book Spotlight πŸ“š

The Vision Driven Leader -Michael Hyatt

One of the most beautiful takeaways from this book is simple: you cannot lead people effectively if you do not know where you are taking them.

When I look back over my own leadership journey, I realize that vision has been developing long before I had language for it.

I started in healthcare administration and billing, focused on doing my job well and understanding the work in front of me. Then leadership came. More responsibility. More difficult conversations. More decisions that affected people beyond me. Eventually, I learned that being a leader wasn’t simply about keeping an office running or checking things off a list.

Leadership requires seeing beyond today.

Vision asks:
What are we building?
Where are we going?
Why does it matter?
And does my team understand how their work connects to the bigger picture?

That lesson has followed me from healthcare leadership into building STR Cache Co. Leadership & Consulting. There were seasons when I could see what I wanted long before I knew exactly how I would get there. I had to learn that vision doesn’t mean having every answer. It means having enough clarity to take the next intentional stepβ€”and enough courage to keep moving when everyone else cannot see it yet.

That is one of my biggest takeaways from The Vision Driven Leader:

Vision gives direction. Leadership gives vision movement. Ex*****on turns it into results.

As leaders, we cannot become so consumed with today’s staffing issue, schedule, deadline, complaint, or crisis that we stop building tomorrow.

Your team needs more than a manager who keeps the day moving.

They need a leader who can help them see where they’re going.

Hello, Leaders!

It is easy to become consumed by what must be handled today, schedules, staffing, deadlines, and problems that demand immediate answers.

But when every decision is driven by urgency, the future gets built by default instead of by design.

Visionary leadership requires a clear picture of where your team is going and what progress should look like. Your vision should guide your strategy, sharpen your priorities, and help you separate meaningful opportunities from distractions.

Your team does not need every detail today. They need clear direction, meaningful benchmarks, and a leader who communicates the vision consistently.

Ask yourself: Does my team understand what we are building?

Lead with clarity. Execute with confidence.

Hello, September.

A vision is more than an idea it must give your practice direction.

As you prepare for the rest of the year, ask yourself: What are we building? What needs improvement? What benchmarks will measure progress? Are we preparing to expand or simply trying to finish?

Don’t wait until January to decide what the new year should look like. The vision begins now.
