🎉 Congratulations to the Winners of the 2025 Newport Charter Yacht Show Chef Competition! 🍽️⚓

Held on Tuesday, June 24th at the beautiful Safe Harbor Newport Shipyard, eight talented yacht chefs faced off in a culinary showdown with three guest judges Chef Kevin Des Chenes (Culinary Director, Newport Mansions and Private Chef), Kitty McGowan (former yacht chef and president of NautiCom Communications), and Chef Odi Siharaj (Owner and head chef of Tsunama in Narragansett). Each chef created a dish inspired by a randomly selected celebration theme, using only ingredients curated from a stunning fresh market display by National Marine Suppliers, featuring fresh meats, fish, vegetables, and greens, curated by Chef Joel Christy.

🥇 1st Place: Chef Gabriela Piotto, M/Y In The Zone
Her “Anniversary”-themed dish wowed the judges: striped bass with forbidden black rice, beurre blanc, a red watercress-dandelion emulsion, and a crisp tempura nest of watercress and finger lime. “I just decided to go with a classic, no-frills recipe that works for me and our guests,” she shared.

🥈 2nd Place: Chef Garrett Hamilton, M/Y Acta
With a “New Year’s Eve” inspired dish, he served striped bass with a potato crust and crispy striped skin, complemented by radish, pickled red onion, confit carrots, and asparagus—plated to reflect the transition from old to new.

🥉 3rd Place: Chef Katie Provenza, M/Y Temptation
Her “Bachelorette” entrée featured striped bass crudo with compressed watermelon, tomato water, pickled shallot, finger lime, microgreens, and a bold touch of chili oil.
