🔍 AI starts with the problem, not the tool.
“Can we add AI to this?” “Should we buy this tool?”. We hear these questions a lot from clients. And often, the better place to start is not the tool, but the problem behind it.
We recently joined a practical training session with the OpenAI team on how to move from “we want AI” to a clearer, more actionable next step. A few takeaways stood out:
✅ Problem before product.
“We want an AI assistant” may actually mean “this part of our work is taking too long.” Start by finding where the real friction is.
✅ Value before investment.
Before adding a tool or building a solution, check whether the problem is important enough to solve and what improvement would actually matter.
✅ Clarity before commitment.
Separate what we know from what still needs to be validated, so the next step is based on evidence rather than assumptions.
Thanks to the OpenAI team for a very practical session.
We’re looking forward to applying these principles when helping clients identify where AI can create real value.
