PETRONAS, short for Petroliam Nasional Berhad (English: National Petroleum Limited), is a Malaysian government-owned oil and gas company, established on 17 August 1974. The company is 100% owned by government and has the right to exploit all the oil and gas resources in Malaysia and add value to these resources. Petronas is included in the Fortune Global 500 group of the world's largest companies. Fortune magazine ranked Petronas 158th on the Fortune Global 500 list in 2019.
