🇬🇧 The rice is beginning to flower, and the fields are slowly turning soft golden with the arrival of autumn. Cooler days and gentle sunshine make it a lovely time to slow down, cycle through the village, and watch the rice season change. 🚲🌾

🇻🇳 Lúa bắt đầu trổ bông, những cánh đồng dần khoác lên mình sắc vàng dịu của mùa thu. Trời mát, nắng nhẹ — thật đẹp để thong thả đạp xe qua làng và ngắm mùa lúa đang chuyển mình. 🚲🌾

Làm vườn một thời gian mới thấy: rất nhiều thứ mình vẫn gọi là “rác” lại chính là thức ăn cho đất.

Không cần quá cầu kỳ. Biết tận dụng đúng những gì có sẵn trong nhà, mình có thể tự làm compost và nuôi đất theo cách tự nhiên hơn. 🌱

Mình share lại video hướng dẫn ủ compost tại nhà — ai muốn thử thì cùng làm nhé!

After spending some time gardening, I’ve realised that many things we still call “waste” are actually food for the soil.

It doesn’t have to be complicated. By making good use of what we already have at home, we can make our own compost and nourish the soil in a more natural way. 🌱

🌱Along the Red River and Đuống River, village life still moves at its own pace.
People grow vegetables and fruit, go to the local market, make food at home, and many small businesses in the village still follow the seasons.
Some families make tofu. Some make bánh cuốn. Some grow and sell their own vegetables and fruit. Others make traditional food and drinks for their neighbours.
There is no big attraction here. It’s just everyday life.
And that’s what I’d like to share with you.
You can go to the market, meet local families, and try making things yourself — not just watch.
Sometimes, the best way to understand a place is simply to spend a morning living a little like the people who live there. 🌿

🇻🇳Một chiếc xe đạp.
Một chuyến đi xay.
Thêm vài lần sàng sẩy.

Chẳng có gì lớn lao, chỉ là làm việc rất chăm chỉ và cẩn thận.

Nhìn cô đạp xe chở từng bao thóc, mình lại thấy một điều rất đẹp ở những người phụ nữ làng quê: **làm gì cũng bằng đôi tay và làm cho thật tử tế.** 🌿

🇬🇧 One bicycle.
One trip to the rice mill.
And a few rounds of winnowing and cleaning.

Nothing extraordinary — just hard work, done carefully and with care.

Watching her cycle along with bags of rice, I was reminded of something beautiful about the women in the countryside:

**They do things with their own hands, and they do them well.** 🌿

🇻🇳🌿Không có tiếng xe cộ ồn ào.

Chỉ có tiếng gà gáy, tiếng nước chảy xuống thùng khi từng miếng đậu phụ được ép, tiếng hàng xóm trò chuyện và tiếng những vị khách đến chơi.

Những âm thanh rất đỗi bình thường.

Nhưng có lẽ, chính những điều bình thường ấy lại làm nên sự yên tĩnh rất riêng của làng quê. 🌱

🇬🇧🌿 **No busy traffic. No city noise.

Just the sound of roosters crowing, water dripping into a bucket as each piece of tofu is pressed, and the voices of neighbours chatting with guests who have come to visit.

Nothing extraordinary.

Perhaps these simple, everyday sounds are exactly what make village life feel so peaceful. 🌱

🇻🇳 🌱 **Ngâm đủ thời gian, hạt đậu nành nở mềm.

Rồi xay cùng nước, lọc ra **sữa đậu nành còn sống** và phần **bã đậu**.

Chưa thành đậu phụ đâu nhé. 😂
Đây mới chỉ là một bước giữa hành trình từ **hạt đậu → sữa đậu → miếng đậu phụ**.

🇬🇧🌱 **After soaking, the soybeans become soft and plump.

They are then ground with water and strained into **raw soy milk** and **soy pulp**.

Not tofu yet. 😂
This is just one step along the journey from **soybean → soy milk → tofu**.
