It is our great pleasure to have received his excellency Ambassador of Vietnam, mister NGUYEN Van Thao, and the delegations of Vietnameese and Belgian companies at our project in Hanzinelle/Gerpinnes on August 20, 2024.
At the visit all partners shared the challanges, the opportunities and the innovative approaches in the development and construction of High-tension grid, to implement renewable Energy and civil engineering. Together with the partners ELIA, Luminus, owner of the windturbines, and the Services Public de Wallonie, the governmental services responsible for road infrastructure. AVALON L+E has been given a leading roll in implementing the project and was given the opportunity to share this with the delegations. Also we thank BESIX as the general construction company leading all construction of the interconnection project, to support the visit.
Elia Transmission Belgium is the operator of the Belgian electricity transmission system. We manage the Belgian high-voltage grid from 30,000 to 400,000 volts. This network covers a total of more than 8,802.50 km of lines, underground and submarine cables throughout Belgium. With a confidence rate of 99.99%, we provide society with a robust electricity grid, which is important for socio-economic prosperity. We ensure that production and consumption are always in balance. With the subsidiary EGI, ELIA is currently supporting EVN as a knowledge and technology partner.

This event gave Belgian and Vietnamese companies and organisations the opportunity to connect and have a better understanding of the new opportunities and challenges facing Vietnam in implementing Decree 80/2024. Whereas the goals is to connect, sellers and consumers under a negotiated PPA price on their own or construct their private line infrastructure, connecting Renewable Energy production to their needs.
