PurpleAsia's walk to raise funds and awareness for the work of Blue Dragon Children's Foundation starts at 6.30am on Sunday 8th Sept opposite the mighty People's Committee of Thu Duc City. We are walking 10kms to raise some money and have some fun. EVERYBODY (and your dog) is warmly welcome to join us.

All we ask is that you raise or contribute a minimum of VND1m/$40 per walker and contribute at our fundraising page - https://www.bluedragonwalk.org/matt-millard

The pace will very very relaxed. The area is mostly green and pleasant to walk around and we will get good noodles and coffee at the finish line. We are delighted to welcome Woofie's Pal and some woofies and some of our extended PA family - Tịnh Minh Nguyễn Hoàng, Andrew Millington. It's an early start to try to avoid the heat but the Ca Phe Sua Da at the end will be well worth it.

Blue Dragon tackles the harrowing realities of modern slavery, rescuing individuals from exploitation and empowering them towards a brighter future. It costs an average of USD1,000 to rescue one person trapped in modern slavery, and that's our aim on our walk this Sunday, 8 Sept.

Nép mình giữa những ngọn núi đá vôi đã có từ hàng trăm năm tại thung lũng Đền Thái Vi, Jiva Hoa Lư Retreat được gây dựng với ước muốn giản đơn: cùng bạn cảm nhận cuộc sống chân thật và bình dị của miền làng quê Bắc Bộ, để hiểu được sợi dây liên kết chặt chẽ giữa con người và thiên nhiên.

Văn hoá làng quê Việt Nam có một biểu tượng không thể không nhắc đến chính là cánh cổng làng. Cổng làng là nơi đầu tiên bạn đặt chân đến khi muốn bước vào một ngôi làng, để được gặp gỡ người dân sinh sống phía sau cánh cổng, khám phá cuộc sống quây quần chan chứa tình người giữa những con người rất đỗi mộc mạc ấy. Chỉ cần đứng trước cổng làng, ta đã có thể phần nào cảm nhận được cốt cách của ngôi làng đó.

Phía sau mỗi cánh cổng làng chính là sự kết nối cộng đồng khăng khít, là những sinh hoạt thể hiện nét đẹp phong tục, tập quán, văn hoá riêng biệt, không hòa lẫn vào nhau giữa những ngôi làng. Chính cánh cổng ấy, là nguồn cảm hứng làm nên biểu tượng logo sống động của Jiva Hoa Lu Retreat.

Dù bạn đến từ vùng đất nào, khi bước chân qua cánh cổng làng Jiva, bạn cũng sẽ được chào đón bởi những nụ cười nồng hậu và tình làng chan chứa của những con người nơi đây. JIVA HOA LU RETREAT
Where a thousand year of history come alive

Over a period of just over 60 years in the 10th Century, a series of momentous events took place in Hoa Lu, a beautiful secluded area of limestone hills in the north of Vietnam. Dinh Bo Linh fulfilled his destiny to become Emperor and unite the country. Tales of mythical dragons, turtles and tigers became entwined with real-life stories of struggle and Imperial intrigue, culminating in the founding of the present day capital city a thousand years ago.

Jiva Hoa Lu Retreat revives the spirit of those days by celebrating Vietnamese village culture and traditions, expressed through heartfelt Vietnamese hospitality and immersion in the vibrant festivals, authentic experiences and spiritual richness of the area.
