Although EU imports of vegetables and fruits account for about 50% of world imports of vegetables and fruits, the import volume of these products from Vietnam accounts for only a small proportion, about 0.08% of EU imports. The reason is that very few Vietnamese fruit and vegetable exporters meet strict European regulations on food safety.
