A Dutch- Vietnamese bilateral trading platform

Vietnam and the Netherlands trade intensively with each other. Vietnam is a huge country with enormous opportunities and challenges. On the other side

is the Netherlands: a small country full of entrepreneurs, knowledge and internationally trading companies that are keen to get to know Vietnam. The DBAV is a bilateral network that offers support to ease doing business. Particularly in Vietnam, it is important to join such a network because of the political governance system. The Dutch government and companies really join forces here to make trade happen. For SME members, we offer relevant events and a broad portfolio of business services. We can help with identifying business opportunities and assist in arranging meetings with Vietnamese customers online or offline, in English or in Vietnamese. For multinationals, we are particularly strong in helping them with advocacy to the local and national government authorities.

🇳🇱🇻🇳 Capacity Building Program Helping Vietnamese SMEs Prepare for the Dutch Market 🚀

The Dutch Business Association Vietnam (DBAV) is pleased to announce the extension of the Ready to Export (R2E) project (2026 - 2027), funded by the Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO) and implemented by DBAV with support from the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Vietnam.

The R2E project aims to strengthen the export readiness and competitiveness of Vietnamese SMEs, while connecting local businesses more closely with Dutch and European supply chains and business ecosystems.

Building on the achievements of Phase 1 (2021–2024), the new phase (2026–2027) will focus on:
✅ Sector-specific capacity building
✅ Practical cross-industry business skills
✅ Sustainable and international supply chain standards
✅ Direct business matching with Dutch companies

In addition to technical training and 1:1 mentoring, the program will also feature:
📌 Cross-sectors Bootcamps
📌 Company visits
📌 Knowledge exchange on Dutch technologies and expertise
📌 Hands-on trainers and industry experts
📌 Networking and business connection events

The program is currently open for applications from Vietnamese SMEs operating in agriculture, aquaculture/seafood, textile & garment, and manufacturing sectors.

🇻🇳✈️ Visa-Free Travel for Dutch Citizens - Vietnam is now more accessible for the Dutch community!

From 15 August 2025, Dutch passport holders can enter Vietnam visa-free for up to 45 days under the government’s new tourism stimulus programme. While this change aims to boost tourism, it also makes it easier for Dutch professionals, entrepreneurs and investors to experience Vietnam first-hand in exploring the market, meeting partners and discovering the country’s vibrant culture alongside its growing economy.

📢 Just One Week to Go Until the Haring Party!

In 2023, we launched the very first Haring Party in Ho Chi Minh City, a celebration of summer, vibrant community and fresh Dutch herring (aka "Dutch sashimi", as our former Chair Alexander Koch described it). What began as a cultural celebration has become a signature DBAV tradition, blending friendship, business, and a touch of fun. Last year, it expanded to Hanoi.

🔥This year, it returns to HCMC for its third edition, and it’s going to be extra special.
