Shipping cargo tally is mainly performed at loading ports and discharge ports (for ships), supplier’s premises (for containers) to ascertain the condition and quantity of the cargo at the loading and discharge port. Loading tally services are to control quantity of cargo in delivery on board of vessel, into containers based on the actually numbers of goods tallied in joint signature to compared with as purchase orders, packing lists of shipment before ship’s departure (Called the loaded cargo tally). Discharging tally services are to control quantity of cargo in receipt of consignee, ports based on the actually numbers of goods tallied in joint signature to compared with as Bills of lading, packing lists of shipment after ship’s arrival (Called the discharged cargo tally). Joint tally is to perform on a joint basis with all parties involved, to avoid any subsequent discussions. a. Loading supervision
The purpose of loading supervision is to provide services of the loading of cargo in bags standard for the safe goods, loading operation of the ship and for damage and/or loss prevention
The following is recommendations for on loading rice in bags operation by our marine surveyors, shipping supervisors. The ship’s technical, cargo holds/ hatch covers condition:
- Ship’s cargo holds/ hatch covers should be met pre-loading survey requirement that will be carried out by appointed/and taking part our surveyors to identify the suitable before loading. Dunnage and stowage arrangement:
- Supervise to the dunnage materials must be laid corrosive on the tank top, around the frames of bulkheads, ship-sides before loading with bam boo sticks and then covered by bamboo mats and must be free from dusty and strange odour or insects.
- Supervise to cargo in bags must be orderly stowed with bag on bag in to cargo blocks with enough approved ventilation channels distance 25 cm to 30 cm, and then got a higher 05 bags by 05 bags each bag laid corrosive two cargo blocks 05 metres to separating from each other.
- Supervise to cargo in bags must be loaded far away from engine-bulkhead to prevent any damage caused by heating, and from the top of coaming and hatch covers with enough distance 50 cm to 60 cm.

- Supervise to the main deck and access manholes which must be kept in dry and clean condition during loading process.

The purpose of discharging supervision and inspection are to identify condition of cargo before discharging, during unloading, and at the time of completed discharging for loss/damage prevention as well Cargo Outturn Report (C.O.R), Report On Receipt of Cargo (ROROC).
