Most women hear this song. Men feel it.
You hear “If I got locked away and we lost it all today…”
and think it’s romantic.
But listen again.
He’s not asking about love.
He’s asking about his worth.
“If I couldn’t provide anymore…
If I wasn’t the man you met…
Would you still choose me?”
Because for a lot of men,
love has always felt… conditional.
Not because women are bad —
but because the world taught them:
→ be strong
→ be successful
→ be useful
And only then… you are loved.
So when a man loves you,
he’s not just giving you his heart.
He’s giving you his sense of value.
And the real fear isn’t losing everything.
It’s losing you after he does.
Maybe the question isn’t
“why don’t men open up?”
