Dating apps are exhausting. But you're probably using them wrong. Apps are not relationship builders. They're screening tools. Screen out the wrong ones fast. Meet the right ones in person, quickly.
Step one - screen before you swipe. Shirtless mirror selfies in every photo. Group photos only. No bio, or 'just ask.' 'Not looking for anything serious.' Swipe left. Don't overthink it.
Step two - his opener tells you everything. Red flags: 'hey,' 'you're hot,' a copy-paste line. Green flags: he references your profile, asks a real question. Low effort message means no response. You're screening for effort.
Step three - move to a phone call, within three to five messages. Don't text for weeks, you're wasting time. Voice reveals personality. Time-wasters won't call. If he won't call, move on.
Step four - meet within one week of the call. One week prevents pen pal syndrome, and tests if he's actually available. You can't screen through a screen. You need to meet.
Step five - the first date is a screening date. Your goal isn't to impress, it's to observe. Is he on time? Does he ask about you? Is he present, or on his phone? One red flag means walk. No second chances at this stage.
And stay safe - not paranoid, just basic. Meet in public, always. Tell a friend where you're going. Drive yourself. Google his name before you go.
Watch for the common mistakes - texting for weeks before meeting. Ignoring red flags because he's cute. Giving too many chances to low-effort men. Every one of these costs you months.
So screen ruthlessly. Invest selectively. W**d out the wrong ones quickly, invest only in the right ones. Apps are one tool. Not the only tool.
