Certlink Market Report — 2 October 2026

Today's export commodity prices for Pacific farmers:

Coconut Oil (CIF Rotterdam): USD 2,080/mt — stable on last week
Copra: USD 1,290/mt — stable on last week
Cacao Bean (ICE NY close, 1 Oct): USD 5,145/mt — down 7.9% on last month
Water Taro: USD 425/mt (Pacific regional estimate)
Kava (dried root): USD 10,800/mt (Pacific regional estimate)

Coconut oil holds steady at USD 2,080/mt CIF Rotterdam as October begins, with seasonal demand from food manufacturers and the personal care sector continuing to provide support. The ICC weekly bulletin is expected Friday — watch for any update to CIF Rotterdam seller quotes from the Philippines and Indonesia as the market enters Q4.

Cacao/Cocoa has retreated to USD 5,145/mt on ICE New York as the new cocoa marketing year begins today (1 October). Prices fell nearly 3% on Tuesday, pressured by strong Ivory Coast supply data — farmers shipped 2.14 million MT of cocoa to ports in the year to 30 August, up 19% on the prior year — and rising ICE warehouse inventories. The December contract is now the active front month. Despite the near-term supply pressure, the key question remains whether the 2026/27 West African main crop, now beginning to be harvested, will deliver the volumes the market is expecting. Any weather disruption or crop shortfall could reverse the recent price decline quickly. Pacific cacao producers should continue to monitor the market closely.

Certlink Market Report — 28 September 2026

Today's export commodity prices for Pacific farmers:

Coconut Oil (CIF Rotterdam): USD 2,091/mt — up 6.6% on last month
Copra: USD 1,296/mt — up 6.6% on last month
Cacao Bean (ICE NY close, 26 Sep): USD 5,591/mt — down 12.5% on last month
Water Taro: USD 425/mt (Pacific regional estimate)
Kava (dried root): USD 10,800/mt (Pacific regional estimate)

Coconut oil has firmed to USD 2,091/mt CIF Rotterdam, holding steady through late September as European buyers remain active following the summer break. Philippine and Indonesian supply continues to gradually rebuild, with the ICC's longer-term outlook pointing toward a modest easing in Q4 — but current demand from food manufacturers and the personal care sector is keeping prices supported at current levels.

Cacao/Cocoa has pulled back to USD 5,591/mt on ICE New York, consolidating after the sharp August rally that took prices to USD 6,650/mt. The market has been easing through September as near-term supply data has weighed on sentiment — ICE warehouse inventories have risen and Ivory Coast port arrivals remain strong year-on-year. However, the key market focus is now shifting to Ghana's main crop season opening, which is expected imminently. Early crop assessments will be critical in determining whether the 2026/27 West African supply shortfall that drove the August rally materialises as feared. Pacific cacao producers remain in a strong position — prices are still 96% above the April 2026 low of USD 2,846/mt.

Certlink Market Report — 16 September 2026

Today's export commodity prices for Pacific farmers:

Coconut Oil (CIF Rotterdam): USD 2,077/mt — up 5.4% on last month
Copra: USD 1,288/mt — up 5.4% on last month
Cacao Bean (ICE NY close, 15 Sep): USD 6,392/mt — up 7.8% on last month
Water Taro: USD 425/mt (Pacific regional estimate)
Kava (dried root): USD 10,800/mt (Pacific regional estimate)

Coconut oil has recovered to USD 2,077/mt CIF Rotterdam, firming through September as European buyers return from summer holidays and re-enter the market. With Philippine and Indonesian supply gradually rebuilding, the ICC's longer-term outlook projects prices to ease toward USD 1,850–1,950/mt by year end — but near-term demand from the food and personal care sectors is supporting current levels above that range.

Cacao/Cocoa has strengthened to USD 6,392/mt on ICE New York, consolidating near the upper end of the range that has prevailed since late August. The market has recovered more than 130% from the April 2026 low of USD 2,846/mt, driven by a dramatic tightening of the 2026/27 West African supply outlook. Today also marks the last rollover day for the September contract — the market has rolled to the December 2026 contract. Pacific cacao producers remain in a strong position, with prices well above the levels seen for most of 2024 and early 2025.

Certlink Market Report — 11 September 2026

Today's export commodity prices for Pacific farmers:

Coconut Oil (CIF Rotterdam): USD 1,970/mt — stable on last week
Copra: USD 1,221/mt — stable on last week
Cacao Bean (ICE NY close, 10 Sep): USD 5,843/mt — down 1.8% on the day
Water Taro: USD 425/mt (Pacific regional estimate)
Kava (dried root): USD 10,800/mt (Pacific regional estimate)

Coconut oil remains steady at USD 1,970/mt CIF Rotterdam per the ICC 15 August bulletin. The next ICC weekly bulletin is due Friday 12 September and should provide updated CIF Rotterdam quotes as European buyers return from summer holidays. The ICC market outlook continues to project a gradual easing toward USD 1,850–1,950/mt by year end as Philippine and Indonesian production recovers.

Cacao/Cocoa fell to USD 5,843/mt on ICE New York — the lowest level in two weeks — as signs of ample near-term supply weighed on prices. ICE warehouse inventories have surged to a two-year high of 3.44 million bags, and Ivory Coast port arrivals have reached 2.14 million MT this season, up 19% year-on-year. Despite this near-term supply pressure, early crop assessments for the upcoming West African main harvest are showing potential yield reductions tied to erratic weather and below-average pod formation — keeping longer-term price risks tilted to the upside. Pacific cacao producers should monitor the market closely for a potential buying opportunity if prices continue to soften.

Certlink Market Report — 4 September 2026

Today's export commodity prices for Pacific farmers:

Coconut Oil (CIF Rotterdam): USD 1,970/mt — stable on last week
Copra: USD 1,221/mt — stable on last week
Cacao Bean (ICE NY close, 3 Sep): USD 6,289/mt — up 0.3% on the day
Water Taro: USD 425/mt (Pacific regional estimate)
Kava (dried root): USD 10,800/mt (Pacific regional estimate)

Coconut oil holds at USD 1,970/mt CIF Rotterdam per the ICC 15 August bulletin. The ICC market outlook projects prices to ease gradually toward USD 1,850–1,950/mt by year end as recovering production in the Philippines and Indonesia increases export availability. Pacific copra producers should factor this expected moderation into forward planning.

Cacao/Cocoa consolidated at USD 6,289/mt on ICE New York, easing slightly from recent highs as profit-taking and supply data applied pressure. Ivory Coast farmers have now shipped 2.14 million MT of cocoa to ports this season — up 19% year-on-year — and the country has announced plans to expand cocoa processing capacity to 1.3 MMT in 2026/27. While near-term supply is ample, El Niño crop risks for the 2026/27 West African season continue to underpin longer-term price support. Pacific cacao producers remain in a strong position relative to the February 2026 lows of USD 3,240/mt.

Certlink Market Report — 31 August 2026

Today's export commodity prices for Pacific farmers:

Coconut Oil (CIF Rotterdam): USD 1,970/mt — stable on last week
Copra: USD 1,221/mt — stable on last week
Cacao Bean (ICE NY close, 28 Aug): USD 6,635/mt — up 7.5% on Friday
Water Taro: USD 425/mt (Pacific regional estimate)
Kava (dried root): USD 10,800/mt (Pacific regional estimate)

Coconut oil holds steady at USD 1,970/mt CIF Rotterdam per the ICC 15 August weekly bulletin, with both Philippines and Indonesia sellers quoted at this level. A new ICC bulletin is due this Friday — watch for updated CIF Rotterdam quotes as European buyers return from summer holidays and activity picks up in September.

Cacao/Cocoa closed Friday at USD 6,635/mt on ICE New York — up 7.5% on the day and the strongest close since early July. The rally was driven by traders sharply reassessing 2026/27 West African crop prospects as El Niño weather patterns intensify across key growing regions in Ivory Coast and Ghana. With the market up 33% since the start of August, Pacific cacao producers are strongly encouraged to review forward selling opportunities — current prices represent one of the best windows of 2026.

Certlink Market Report — 27 August 2026

Today's export commodity prices for Pacific farmers:

Coconut Oil (CIF Rotterdam): USD 1,970/mt — down 12.2% on last month
Copra: USD 1,221/mt — down 12.2% on last month
Cacao Bean (ICE NY close, 26 Aug): USD 5,874/mt — down 1.8% on the day
Water Taro: USD 425/mt (Pacific regional estimate)
Kava (dried root): USD 10,800/mt (Pacific regional estimate)

Coconut oil has pulled back to USD 1,970/mt CIF Rotterdam after the sharp spike to USD 2,242/mt last week, as sellers from the Philippines and Indonesia returned with more competitive offers. This kind of volatility is typical of late August trading when European buyer activity is reduced during the summer holiday period. Underlying fundamentals remain supportive — prices are still well above the five-year average.

Cacao/Cocoa eased to USD 5,874/mt on ICE New York, retreating from recent highs as supply-side data weighed on sentiment. Ivory Coast farmers have shipped 2.11 million MT of cocoa to ports this marketing year — up 20% year-on-year — and ICE warehouse inventories have risen to a two-year high. However, El Niño crop risks for the 2026/27 West African season remain the key longer-term price support. Pacific cacao producers should continue to monitor export opportunities at these levels.
