*** VCCI continues to support seasonal workers through the WRIR Programme ***

The Vanuatu Chamber of Commerce and Industry, in partnership with the Department of Labour, Vanuatu, continues to support seasonal workers through the Worker Ready Investment Ready (WRIR) programme, funded by PACER Plus.

Through the Seasonal Work Canvas training conducted during the Department of Labour’s pre-departure briefing sessions, seasonal workers are encouraged to identify their goals and explore how they can make the most out of their hard-earned income. The training provides practical knowledge to help workers plan for future business opportunities, make informed investment decisions and strengthen their financial resilience.

During the group exercises, participants work together to identify potential business opportunities they would like to invest in. These discussions encourage workers to think about how they can save towards their goals, manage their earnings wisely and prepare for future business ventures when they return home.

The training also highlights the importance of planning ahead, understanding financial responsibilities and making informed decisions about how income can be used to support individuals and their families in the long term.

By equipping seasonal workers with practical business planning skills, the WRIR programme aims to help them turn their overseas work experience and earnings into opportunities for sustainable livelihoods and future economic growth.

VCCI will continue delivering this programme in partnership with the Department of Labour and Employment Services through to the end of 2026, supporting more seasonal workers to prepare for their financial futures and explore opportunities beyond seasonal employment.
