A project that helped shape Kosovo’s digital talent. A milestone we are proud to have been part of.
We are proud to see Europe House Kosovo look back at ICT FOR KOSOVO’S GROWTH, a project that represents one of the most important chapters in Prishtina REA’s work and, by scale, depth and ambition, the largest EU-funded ICT digital-skills initiative ever implemented in Kosovo.
For PRISHTINA REA, this was not simply another training project.
It was an opportunity to help build an entirely new level of advanced digital-skills development in Kosovo.
At a time when most professional training programmes in the market were measured in tens of hours, ICT FOR KOSOVO’S GROWTH delivered intensive 300-hour training programmes per module, a scale rarely, if ever, seen in Kosovo.
And, these were not introductory courses.
Participants were trained through advanced, market-driven curricula in areas such as:
🔹 Cybersecurity
🔹 Web Application Development
🔹 Enterprise Java and Mobile Application
🔹 Python Programming
🔹 Big Data Analytics & Cloud Computing
🔹 Machine Learning
🔹 Artificial Intelligence
Delivering 300 hours of Artificial Intelligence training in Kosovo, at a time when AI had only begun entering the mainstream, says a great deal about the ambition of this programme. The same applies to advanced tracks in Machine Learning, Big Data and Cybersecurity — areas that were still emerging locally while already becoming central to the global digital economy.
The project was designed around a simple principle: do not train for yesterday’s jobs, build skills for the economy that is coming next.
Over the life of the programme:
🔹 3,100+ people were trained
🔹 2,500+ were certified
🔹 43% of certified participants were women
🔹 505+ participants reported employment
🔹 thousands of hours of advanced technical training were delivered across multiple generations of participants
Behind every number was a demanding training journey, hundreds of practical assignments, final projects, trainers, mentors and young people who committed months, not days, to developing serious professional competence.
For Prishtina REA, this project demonstrated what is possible when digital-skills development is treated as a strategic investment rather than a short-term intervention.
We are proud of the role we played in delivering this scale of training, proud of the standard we helped set and especially proud of the thousands of young people who used the opportunity to build careers in Kosovo’s digital economy.
The impact is visible today in companies, teams, careers and a stronger pool of ICT talent across the country.
ICT FOR KOSOVO’S GROWTH was not just about training people for the ICT sector. It was about helping Kosovo build the human capital needed for a knowledge-based economy.
And that is a legacy Prishtina REA is deeply proud of.
