During the last round of training sessions we put to good use our “new toy”, the Brayden manakin that we just obtained.
Many may see this as a gimmick, a manakin with a few lights on it, however as the guys doing the CPR training found, this is able to give you direct feedback on compressions right there in front of you, without looking at a monitor or tv screen. You can easily perfect depth, speed, and see the “blood” circulating to heart and brain.

Kasia and Brian were lucky enough to win this in a competition at the Emergency Services Show in September, the prize put up by Medisave (UK) Ltd of Weymouth, thanks to them for very unexpectedly notifying us of winning and posting out all ready for use.

You will notice we also press the use of the Microvent Oxygen Resuscitator (training model run on air) from Meditech Systems Limited, the teams at Aberpergwm and Kilroot Salt have this available for any such event, train with the equipment you use

The Uniform Services Day last Saturday.
As always great day, well spent time making kids happy and educating people. A lot of interest and interaction makes it very rewarding.
Giving basic CPR instruction to maybe 50 kids is important to us, and enhanced resuscitation and choking ideas to adults also.

Last Wednesday we were asked to assist setting up and running the Irish Mines rescue mutual aid training session.
5 mines sending personnel to make 2 full teams up, with the common thought of working together during emergencies.

Thankfully it went very well, one of the better received training sessions.
Irish Gypsum
Dalradian Gold
Galantas Gold
Tara Mines
Irish Salt

Keep it up

Jon seems to have changed colour 😂

We moved up another gear yesterday using the Drager Proair 4 hour breathing apparatus, very likely its first time in a U.K. coal mine for sure.
Received very well by Rob, the captain who wore it

Final day of training, 5 companies represented, and not 1 failure.
In fact I’d say they did exceptionally well
Albion Stone, Bath Stone, Lovell Stone, Park Lane and Octavian should be proud you have now added to the areas rescue capability.
