In 1964, Selby was dubbed the “Houdini of Hardware” by leading furniture designers and publications. Selby scours Europe and elsewhere for hardware developments that improve North American industries in home and office furniture, marine and aircraft interiors. The company was started in 1949 by Sanford Bruckner after his honorable discharge from the U.S. Neil Bruckner, his son, joined him in 1973 and is now President in charge of day-to-day operations. Today, Selby operates from a 110,000 square foot facility in the Bronx, New York.
