Plastics do not decompose naturally and are the root of numerous environmental problems. Instead of degrading, plastics photodegrades into smaller pieces of plastic, which scientists estimate could take hundreds of years to degrade. Our innovations will address this problem and provide bio-based, naturally degradable alternative to plastics. US will ban the production and sales of personal care products and cosmetics containing plastic microbeads from July 2017. Recently, Canadian government has announced its intention to ban the sale of shower gels, toothpaste, and facial scrubs containing plastic microbeads effective, July 1, 2018. So, there is an urgent need and vacuum of biodegradable and safe replacement for banned plastic microbeads. At EnCap BioTech, our products will not only be naturally biodegradable but also provide value proposition by imparting antimicrobial and antioxidants properties to the end-product.
