While many standard multispectral drone systems are limited to four spectral bands, the Elevation-S is equipped with the MicaSense RedEdge-P, providing a dedicated Blue band alongside a high-resolution panchromatic sensor.

Why does this matter?
The Blue band unlocks advanced vegetation indices such as the Enhanced Vegetation Index (EVI), enabling earlier detection of crop stress, improved w**d classification, and more detailed analysis of vegetation health.
Combined with pan-sharpening, the RedEdge-P delivers high-resolution multispectral imagery that supports applications ranging from precision agriculture to AI-driven plant analysis.

For us, it's not just about collecting more data—it's about collecting better data that enables smarter decisions.
Because the future of precision agriculture isn't just seeing where a problem exists; it's understanding what the problem is before it's visible to the naked eye.

A great second day at the Drone & Unmanned Aviation Conference 2026!

Today, Dr Bennie Broughton shared Avior Labs' perspective on the future of unmanned systems in the utilities and energy sectors, exploring the technologies that will enable the next generation of autonomous UAV operations.

The presentation covered the performance required to achieve the range and endurance needed to survey and protect expansive infrastructure, combining advances in aerodynamics, power harvesting, system efficiencies, and battery technology.

It also highlighted the importance of developing autonomous platforms with future regulatory frameworks in mind. By considering requirements such as Unmanned Traffic Management (UTM) from the outset, new technologies can be designed to integrate seamlessly into tomorrow's operating environments.

Finally, the discussion explored the intelligence that powers autonomous systems. Rather than simply flying a drone, operators will increasingly assign a task, with advanced onboard algorithms interpreting intent, understanding the environment, managing the mission, and delivering actionable intelligence.

Avior Labs is proud to announce that both the Elevation-S and Elevation-G VTOL platforms have received full SACAA approval for commercial operations with one of our partners, Look Up Pro.

As part of the SACAA evaluation process, Look Up Pro successfully demonstrated Beyond Visual Line of Sight (BVLOS) operations up to 8 km with our Elevation drones. The demonstration included:
* Stable, real-time video streaming
* Continuous command and control
* Reliable telemetry across all relative aspects between the drone and ground station

This approval once again validates the robustness, reliability, and operational readiness of the Elevation platform for real-world BVLOS missions.
