Here's a very rare find, especially in the peach color...auction listing description is below, bidding begins on 3/12.
A striking Art Deco tabletop radio from Sparton's celebrated mirror-glass series. The Model 558 features a reverse-painted mirrored glass front panel over a streamlined wooden cabinet, with classic 4-knob layout and horizontal "sled" profile characteristic of Teague’s modernist styling.
The mirrored glass panel remains intact with no cracks, though there is noticeable flaking/desilvering above and to the left of the dial, and below and to the right of the dial (see photos). K***s appear original with honest age-related wear and other wear to the set, as shown.
An increasingly scarce and highly displayable example of pre-war American industrial design, appealing to collectors of vintage radios and Art Deco decorative arts alike.
