Wound care that comes to you. đź’™

Behind every front door is a patient who deserves access to quality wound care—without the added burden of getting to a clinic.

Our Advanced Mobile Wound Care providers bring specialized wound care directly to patients where they live, working alongside families, caregivers, home health agencies, and other healthcare partners to help keep care coordinated.

From assessment and treatment to advanced wound care options, our team arrives ready to care for the patient—and their wound—right at home.

Some of the best partnerships start by simply showing up. đź’™

Getting out into the community, meeting healthcare teams face-to-face, and learning how we can better support the people they serve is one of my favorite parts of what I do.

At Advanced Mobile Wound Care of Virginia, we know great patient care doesn’t happen in a silo. It takes communication, collaboration, and strong relationships between providers, home health teams, facilities, caregivers, and community partners.

Sometimes that means an in-service.
Sometimes it means sitting down over lunch.
And sometimes it means walking through the front door and starting a conversation.

Because at the end of the day, it’s not just about building referral relationships — it’s about building a network of people who can work together to get patients the care they need.

Virginia healthcare friends: I’d love to connect. If we haven’t met yet, say hello! 👋

Advanced doesn’t mean “one and done.”

Skin substitutes and biologic applications can be an important part of a wound care plan, but healing still requires attention to the bigger picture.

Ongoing assessment, appropriate dressings, pressure relief, swelling management, nutrition, and coordination with other healthcare providers may all play a role throughout treatment.

Advanced treatment is one piece of the plan. Comprehensive wound care brings the pieces together.

Advanced wound care is about more than one treatment. 🩹

Even when advanced options like PRP are part of the care plan, the factors affecting healing still matter — pressure relief, circulation, infection management, nutrition, blood sugar management, proper dressing care, and consistent follow-up.

There’s rarely one stand-alone solution. Successful wound care means looking at the whole picture and addressing the barriers that may be preventing healing.

At Advanced Mobile Wound Care of Virginia, our goal is to bring advanced treatment options directly to patients while supporting a comprehensive approach to wound healing.

For venous ulcers, treating the wound may mean treating more than the wound itself.

Venous leg ulcers are often associated with swelling and difficulty moving blood back up the legs. That increased venous pressure can contribute to the wound and make healing more difficult.

When arterial circulation has been evaluated and the clinician determines compression is appropriate, compression therapy may be an important part of the treatment plan.

Dressings can help manage and protect the wound—but a dressing alone may not address the underlying venous pressure and swelling contributing to the problem.

That’s why assessment matters. The wound, swelling, circulation, skin condition, overall health, and individual risk factors all help guide the plan.

Treat the wound. Understand what’s contributing to it.

Consistency is part of the treatment plan.

When a clinician recommends a series of wound-care treatments, keeping visits consistent may be important to the overall plan.

Sometimes circumstances change. A missed visit, hospitalization, new symptoms, changes in the wound, or another change in health may affect treatment timing and what happens next.

Patients and caregivers can help by keeping the wound-care team informed about:

• Hospital or emergency-room visits
• Missed or rescheduled appointments
• New or worsening symptoms
• Changes in drainage, odor, pain, or the wound itself
• New medications or significant health changes
• Changes in home health, caregiver, or living arrangements

Changes don’t automatically mean treatment cannot continue—but the care team needs current information to determine what is appropriate.

Stay connected. Keep your care team informed. Every visit is part of the bigger picture.

Debridement starts with assessment.

Debridement may help remove nonviable tissue and allow the clinician to better evaluate the wound—but not every wound should be approached the same way.

Before determining what is appropriate, the care team may consider:

• Tissue appearance and wound depth
• Drainage and changes in the wound
• Pain and sensitivity
• Circulation and blood flow
• Current medications
• Bleeding risk
• Overall health and underlying conditions
• The patient’s individual care goals

The type of debridement—or whether debridement is appropriate at all—depends on the wound and the individual patient.

Good wound care isn’t one-size-fits-all. Assessment helps guide the right approach.

Good documentation is part of good wound care.

Advanced treatment decisions aren’t based on a single visit or measurement. A clear clinical history helps the care team understand how the wound has progressed, what has already been tried, and how the wound has responded to treatment.

That history may include:

• Consistent wound measurements
• How long the wound has been present
• Previous treatments and interventions
• Response to conservative wound care
• Wound photographs, when authorized
• Relevant health conditions and underlying factors
• Changes in the wound over time

Complete, consistent documentation can help support both clinical decision-making and coverage review when advanced treatment options are being considered.

The story of the wound matters—and good documentation helps tell it.
