Performance Indicator, LLC (“PI”) is an advanced materials science technology company that innovates and markets Energy-conversion, Photoluminescent, and Color Change technologies. PI markets Energy-Conversion, Photoluminescence, and Stimulus-triggered Color Change technologies that are safe and green. PI has implemented building-block technology platforms that individually or in-combination creates multiple products that serve three focused market segments; stimulus-triggered color change, photoluminescence, and energy. Through paints, inks, films and tapes, these technologies are applicable to nearly all types of consumer and industrial products. PI was founded in 2001 with a unique idea involving color changing inks and dyes. PI realized the endless possibilities of this specialized chemistry and began innovation into broader, more diverse applications. Throughout the past decade, while responding to challenges well-suited to color change-based solutions, PI grew technical talent and expanded its intellectual property. In 2011, a Fortune 100 business team was recruited. This team of trusted business professionals, who have worked closely together over the past 14 years, is now executing an aggressive plan to commercialize PI’s vault of existing technology.

The Company operates principally through a speed-to-market model that generates revenue through product sale, adaptation fees, license fees, royalties, and joint venture partner distributions. Since PI technologies are highly leverage-able and address an endless array of applications, the company seeks to productize the technologies with partners who can use PI’s technologies to increase efficiencies, add value to the consumer, reduce manufacturing costs, or any combination thereof. During initial stages of customer interaction, we quickly assess whether PI’s technologies can provide them with a value add proposition having a high probability of commercialization, minimal investment in adaptation or development, and reasonable time to market. In most cases, we work collaboratively with our customers (and sometimes also their vendors) in order to provide technology integration services for testing. Essentially, each of our technology platforms has the likelihood of cutting across many vertical market applications. Thus, projected financial growth is exponential as PI grows not only vertically by adding new technology platforms to our portfolio but also horizontally as we license technologies into markets application by application.

PI has implemented a building block technology platform approach that, individually or in-combination, creates multiple products serving three focused market segments: Energy, Photoluminescence (“PL”) and Stimulus Triggered Color Change. Through phosphors, dyes, paints, inks, films and tapes, these technologies are adaptable to enhance nearly all types of consumer and industrial products.

PI’s leading-edge invention and manufacture of novel phosphors enable the fielding of a unique and market disruptive product in Photoluminescent applications. These products, coupled with PI’s chemistry contributions to this field, provide the market with unmatched emissive color selections and performance in visible glow persistence, brightness, and environmental stability. PI’s PL technologies are creating new market uses for PL and reducing costs for PL applications now required for safety and egress PL requirements needed to comply with the 2009-issued International Building Code.

PI’s High Quantum Efficiency Energy Conversion Films and Particles convert electromagnetic energy at one wave length into another wave length, including infrared. In the visible domain, these films significantly improve the efficiency of LED’s and photovoltaic solar technologies, offering significant efficiency gains for solid state lighting and alternative energy uses. In the infrared domain, these films and particles offer highly desirable attributes for National Defense and commercial authentication and security requirements.

Highlighting PI’s work in Stimulus Triggered Color Change, PI is launching a new paradigm in camouflage. Called Dynamic Camouflage, this break through technology adapts, much like a chameleon, to environmental light conditions for use in textiles (uniforms and tents) and on objects (land, marine or air vehicles). This technology is solely powered by light and, thus, avoids common commercial power disadvantages. Visualization effects produced by PI’s technologies are designed to be triggered by any of a variety of stimuli (such as lack or presence of forms of energy, water, gas, temperature, light, stress, or bacteria) and change color to indicate obsolescence, spoilage, loss of efficacy, provide authentication or create a novel product feature or benefit.
