A recent piece in Setopati puts it simply — sustainability can't be just added on at the end of a project. It has to be part of the design from the very beginning.

The 2025 USAID was a wake up call and a sharp reminder for Nepal on how quickly progress unravels when programs are built on external funding alone.

This article presents the Disability Prevention and Rehabilitation Program (DPRP) in Koshi Province as a model worth paying attention to; a model that has ensured government ownership, shared responsibility, and genuine partnership in a true sense. We hosted a press conference and discussion in honor of the late Dilip Mahato, a brave activist. The discussion was organized by Dilip Mahato Academy in partnership with Nyaye Vatika, Janajyoti Law Firm, and the The Good Leadership at Open Co Hub. It brought together civil society members, senior advocates, law students, journalists and youths, creating a safe space for dialogue on legal, environmental, and social issues.

The discussion included a briefing on Dilip Mahato’s case, its legal aspects, and the recent filing at the Supreme Court, highlighting the challenges of pursuing justice and accountability. Participants shared their thoughts on the critical role of public engagement and collective action in addressing such issues.

A key takeaway from the discussion was the urgent need to strengthen justice advocacy, address impunity, and support those who defend our natural and legal rights.
