On July 27, Kinross Great Bear marked an exciting milestone by successfully completing the first blast of the exploration decline for the AEX (Advanced Exploration) program!
Following the receipt of the AEX permits in April, construction continued on the final earthworks and liner installations for the remaining ponds and stockpile pads. Surface construction of the program is now 93% complete. Underground development at AEX is designed to provide access for infill drilling of the resource and exploration drilling to further delineate extensions of mineralization.
Captured below, the Great Bear team celebrates its first blast of the AEX program on July 27, 2026.

Giving back to our community is a team effort!

The Kinross Great Bear team recently came together to help clean up the town docks. It was a great opportunity to get outside, work together, and give back to the community we’re proud to be part of.

This afternoon, Kinross Great Bear employees Justine Henderson and Jamie Kristoff presented Mayor Fred Mota and the Municipality of Red Lake with a Mobi-Mat.

The 50 ft mat is located at Rahill Beach and extends from the edge of the grass down into the lake. The mat provides "a firm, safe, cool and stable surface for people with disabilities, the elderly, wheelchair users, mobility scooter riders, stroller users and all groups with special access needs."

The Municipality is grateful to Kinross Great Bear Donations Committee for this mat to enhance accessibility in our community.
