10+ Years. 879 Leads. All Tracked Manually.
I’ve been quietly logging every business I find interesting into one CRM for the last decade — not as a high-pressure sales funnel, but as a curated list of companies I might want to coach, one day.
Here’s what that’s looked like:
879 leads added since 2015
314 turned into paying clients
322 I’ve said no to (or priced so hard they walked themselves out — which was the point)
The rest? Still sitting in “maybe someday”
That’s a 49.4% conversion rate on all closed leads
And the biggest surprise?
LinkedIn has been my No.1 source — responsible for 53 clients over the years.
But more importantly — over 100 of those leads came from people inside my own network: clients, friends, former colleagues. Real humans saying, “You should speak to Spillly.”
Oh — and while all this was happening, my coaching fee has increased by over 300% in that time. Not from greed, but from clarity. I know who I work best with, and what I’m worth when I’m in the room.
It’s a reminder:
Systems are great. Networks are better.
But both? That’s how you build a business that lasts.
