Congrats to Colten Helms ! Clinton FD just acquired a good one! ( I might be just a little biased though 😂).

Please join us in welcoming Firefighter Colten Helms to the Clinton Fire Department!

He is born and raised in Hinton, Oklahoma, Colten brings with him a strong passion for the fire service and a family tradition of serving others. Prior to joining our department, he spent the past year serving as a volunteer firefighter with the Hinton Fire Department, where he gained valuable experience and developed a solid foundation in the fire service.

Colten recently completed a competitive hiring process, demonstrating the character, work ethic, and professionalism we look for in those entrusted to serve the citizens of Clinton. He joins our team already holding his Firefighter Certification and is scheduled to test next week for his National EMT certification.

We are proud to welcome Colten to our department and look forward to watching him grow in his career as he serves our community.

Tonight, we conducted vehicle extrication training at the facility, providing our newer personnel with hands-on experience utilizing extrication equipment. This exercise allowed even seasoned veterans to refresh their skills. Periodic training on such procedures is crucial to ensure proficiency when responding to emergencies.

Our Hinton and Hydro female personnel participated in specialized training yesterday, led by female firefighters from OKC Metro. The training focused on techniques tailored to accommodate the physiological differences of female firefighters, enhancing their ability to perform the required tasks. Thank you to Renegade Inferno Society of Empowerment for identifying and addressing this need.

We would like to extend our congratulations to three of our firefighters who have successfully completed the EMT-Basic class at Western Technology Center in Weatherford. They will soon be taking their National Registry Test to become licensed EMTs. The graduates wanted to take a photo with a few of their instructors. 😄
