Devastating news about Comair, An airline which predominantly held around 40% domestic flights within South Africa has failed its business rescue efforts and now on the verge of liquidation.

A terrible blow to South African Aviation with the likelihood of mass staff retrenchment.

Comair clients that have bookings will also be affected and will be in a possible on going battle for refunds.

If you are a customer please remember: Travel agents or the entry level staff of Comair are as equally or more devastated than you are. They do not own the airline, they just act on behalf of the airline so please be calm and kind when you are contacting them for your bookings.

Qatar Airways has once again returned to the Arabian Travel Market (ATM) 2022

The national carrier of the State of Qatar showcased its “World’s Best Business Class Seat”, the multi award-winning Qsuite and a Virtual Reality experience of Hamad International Airport, recently voted the “Best Airport in the World.”

This is in line with Skytrax International’s classification for airlines and airports. The national carrier of the State of Qatar has added new destinations to its growing global network of destinations, forming numerous partnerships with a number of companies including Alaska Airlines, American Airlines and the JetBlue Airways alliance, in addition to being a member of the oneworld airline.

Emirates has unveiled its full Premium Economy experience at this year's Arabian Travel Market and we were honoured to experience this revealing in person along with announcing the highly sought-after cabin class will be open for sale from 1 June for London, Paris, and Sydney flights.

The newly-unveiled Premium Economy service that can apparently “rival most other airlines’ Business Class.”

Emirates President Sir Tim Clark elaborated that “As with everything we do, Emirates premium economy will be exceptional in its class, with minute attention given to every aspect of the customer experience. Customers trading up from economy will be getting excellent value.”

Premium Economy passengers will have access to luxurious seats, comfy amenities, inspired in-flight dining, along with other premium offers and experiences.

England and Scotland scrap testing for vaxxed pax

Fully vaccinated international travellers arriving in England or Scotland will no longer need to take any COVID test on day two of their stay, UK Transport Secretary Grant Shapps has announced. The changes come into effect from 04h00 on February 11.

Also from this date, unvaccinated travellers no longer have to test on day eight of their stay or self-isolate for 10 days. However, they must still take a COVID test pre-departure and again on day two of their stay. The day of arrival is treated as day zero.

“That means that after months of pre-departure testing, post-arrival testing, self-isolation, additional expense – all that fully vaccinated people will now have to do when they travel to the UK, is to verify their status via a passenger locator form,” Shapps confirmed.

While Wales and Northern Ireland have not yet officially announced similar changes in testing regulations, the BBC reports that the nations are expected to follow England and Scotland’s example soon.
