Why your estate’s fibre provider is (usually) your best option

When Intrasurf builds the fibre network inside an estate, they own and maintain that “last mile” infrastructure. Residents aren’t locked in though. You can choose another ISP if you want to.

But here’s the catch: any outside provider has to lease access to that same network. That cost gets passed on to you, usually as a higher monthly price for the same speed.

The team that built and maintains your estate’s network can typically offer more competitive packages, because they’re not paying a middleman fee to use their own infrastructure.

Before you switch providers, it’s worth comparing what you’d actually pay for identical speeds. Often the “other” option costs more for the exact same connection.

Uncapped. Unshaped. Unthrottled. 🤔

You’ll see these terms everywhere... but what do they actually mean for your internet?

✅ Uncapped means there’s no monthly data limit. Stream, work, game and browse without worrying about running out of data.

⚠️ Shaped internet prioritises certain types of traffic over others. During busy periods, activities like streaming, gaming or torrents may be slowed down while other traffic gets preference.

⚠️ Throttled internet means your speed is intentionally reduced after you’ve used a certain amount of data or during periods of heavy usage.

With a truly uncapped, unshaped, unthrottled connection, your internet isn’t artificially limited because you’ve used “too much” data or because of what you’re doing online. You get the speed you’re paying for, whether you’re on a video call, streaming in 4K, downloading large files or gaming.

Because fast internet shouldn’t come with hidden catches.

Jannie founded Intrasurf in 2020 after spending more than 15 years designing and installing fibre networks. Based in Ballito, he started the company because he was tired of seeing estates struggle with slow internet, unreliable networks, and poor service.
