I am privileged to serve on the Manco of DAPD on a voluntary basis.

The Drakenstein Association for Persons with Disabilities (DAPD) is a non-profit organisation in Paarl, South Africa, dedicated to empowering people with disabilities and fostering an inclusive community. You can get involved by volunteering, donating, or exploring potential employment opportunities.

Ways to Get Involved
Volunteering: You can offer your time and skills to support DAPD's various programs, which include the Milani Daycare Centre for children with severe needs and adult daycare centers.

Donating: Financial contributions help DAPD provide essential services, equipment (like wheelchairs and a school bus), and support its operations. Donations may be tax-deductible (Section 18A certificates available).

Employment Opportunities: The organisation occasionally advertises job vacancies for specific roles, such as program implementors or workshop managers.
Partnerships and Awareness: You can collaborate with DAPD on initiatives to raise awareness about disabilities and help break down associated stigmas in the community.

Providing Work Experience: If you are a business owner, you can explore partnerships to offer practical work experience or employment opportunities for individuals with disabilities, as companies like Satchwell and Chempack have done.

HOW TO DECLARE THAT YOUR BUSINESS IS NO LONGER A DESIGNATED EMPLOYER

If you are reporting for the first time, you have to visit the https://ee.labour.gov.za/ website, click on "Register" and follow the prompts.

The reminder letter sent to previously registered employers via email to CEO/Accounting Officer and EE Manager contains an activation link.

Open and view Reminder letter from the email.

Click the activation link on the Reminder Letter and press "activate" to create your password.

Employers who didn’t receive or misplaced their reminder letters should click on “Forgot password” and activate through the activation email that will be sent to both CEO and EE manager.

Login the EE system


Answer the following questions:

 Are you an organ of state yes or no

 Number of employees 1-49 or 50 or more

 Are you designated by collective agreement yes or no

Proceed to apply for certificate of compliance EEA15B
