*YOUR CONFESSIONS RULE YOUR LIFE*

_*I will say of the Lord, He is my Refuge and my Fortress, my God; on Him I lean and rely, and in Him I [confidently] trust!*_ (Psalm 91:2 AMPC).

Oftentimes, we think about certain things that happened to some very “good” people, and say, “If that could happen to so-and-so, what about me? That fellow was better than I am!” Well, it’s got nothing to do with who’s better than who. It’s got to do with your personal walk with the Lord and your faith in His Word. It’s about your faith confessions. Bad things can happen to good people.

Ponder again on the anointed words of the Psalmist that we read in our opening scripture. It was David’s confession and it’s got to become your confession as well. Every so often, you say, “The Lord is my Refuge and my Fortress; He’s my God; on Him, I lean and rely, and in Him I confidently trust!”

Learn the power and value of thinking right and speaking right. If your thinking is wrong, it’ll reflect in your words. And if your words are wrong, things will go wrong in your life. Your confessions regulate your life. The Bible says, _*“Thou art snared with the words of thy mouth, thou art taken with the words of thy mouth”*_ (Proverbs 6:2).

No wonder Psalms 39:1 admonishes that you guard what you say and speak only what’s right: _*“…I will take heed to my ways, that I sin not with my tongue: I will keep my mouth with a bridle….”*_ James 3:2 says, _*“For in many things we offend all. If any man offend not in word, the same is a perfect man, and able also to bridle the whole body.”*_

Proverbs 15:4 says, _*“A wholesome tongue is a tree of life...”*_; a wholesome tongue is one that speaks in line with the provisions of Christ in His Gospel. Do you want to live the awesome, transcendent life of ever-increasing glory that God has destined for you? The key is your confessions: _*“For he that will love life, and see good days, let him refrain his tongue from evil, and his lips that they speak no guile”*_ (1 Peter 3:10). Refraining your tongue from evil and your lips from speaking guile means that you only speak in conformity with the Word of God.

*The LORD is the strength of my life! Even if I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I fear no evil, because He’s with me. His rod and His staff comfort me. He takes hold of my right hand and says to me, “Fear not; I’m here to help you.” Therefore, I’m strong in Him and in the power of His might! Glory to God!*

Partnerships drive growth and profitability!

When most think , they think in terms of , but actually it is a very small part of the 360: You must be looking all round you for opportunities to partner and develop strategic relationships that can help grow your own business.

Partnerships require you to demonstrate three things to the other party:

1. Competence at what you do.

2. Reliability.

3. Integrity and trustworthiness.

You and your team must be completely immersed in the idea of finding different types of . You search for them armed with the ’s Toolkit:

1. Does the partnership give you access to a product or help improve your own offering?

2. Does the partnership help you access the skills of , you don’t have?

3. Does the partnership help you access and develop more efficient that drive SPEED, SCALE AND CAPACITY?

4. Does the partnership help your ?

5. Does the partnership help your of both the products and the business?

6. Does the partnership help lower your ?

7. Does the partnership give you access to [including but not limited to Capital]...?

I evaluate every single potential using these principles. I don’t wait for potential partners to find me; I go looking for them, always clear on what I want and need to grow my business.

Write them down carefully, and every week track your progress. Even if you are not running a business, you can still track partnerships that you read about, and break them down in terms of what I just outlined.

: What Is Your Own Salary

I still remember the first time I was asked that question as an entrepreneur. I had been running my own business for over a year, and I was going through my business plan to get a small overdraft.

The person who asked the question was the Manager of the local bank branch who asked:
“What is your own monthly salary?”

I told her I did not take a salary because the business could not afford it.

“Are you saying your business is not viable?” she asked.

“No ma’am. Take money that I need from the profits, to cover things like rent.”

“You are far too smart to talk like that!” she rebuked.

Then she smiled and said, “How much do you think you are worth, as the MD of your company?”

“I’m not sure!” I stumbled.

Then why don’t you go back and put your salary in the Costs, and let’s talk again.

That Manager, a lady called Mrs Van Nierkerk, was one of the greatest mentors I ever had. She just cared enough to push me. She was very old, and died a few years later of cancer.

If every Branch Manager of a bank in Africa was like her, most of the skills I try to teach here would be amplified overnight!

I went back and looked at the numbers. I decided the simplest thing was to try and use the salary I used to get as a telephone engineer. To my shock, my company could not afford me!

What was also shocking was to find that my “little expenses” approach was a big lie because cumulatively I was taking most of the gross profits to myself!

I sat down carefully with my Bookkeeper, and I was paid a salary!

Now we had added an important brick to the foundations of Process!

1. You must set a salary figure for yourself, even if you fail to pay it at times. It’s a discipline of running a business.

2. That figure must be justified based on what Gross profits you make, and must be a fraction of that Profit. You can review it after 1 year only.

# Register a company, even if it takes you years. Get it done.
# Set up proper Processes.
# Make the sacrifices that will lay the foundation for proper growth.
# Be a person that learns even when others nudge you with a little rebuke, here and there. To refuse to do so, is pride!

After you have registered your business you obviously start operations, what ever it might be the objective being to serve a need and maybe make money.

You have to know how much money came in and how much has left you and how much you still have.

So you need an accounting system which can record all transactions and give you control of your business.

_*Let the saints be joyful in glory: let them sing aloud upon their beds. Let the high praises of God be in their mouth, and a twoedged sword in their hand; To execute vengeance upon the heathen, and punishments upon the people; To bind their kings with chains, and their nobles with fetters of iron; To execute upon them the judgement written: this honour have all his saints. Praise ye the Lord (Psalm 149:5-9).*_

The Lord Jesus occupies the most exalted position there is. He’s seated at the right hand of the Father, far above all principality, and power, might, and dominion, and every name that is named. But the most exciting part is that you’re in Him. You’re seated with Him in glory, with dominion over Satan and the princes of darkness (Ephesians 2:6).

That’s the reason in Christianity, we don’t fight the devil or negotiate with him; we cast him out. We exercise dominion and execute judgement over Satan and the principalities of darkness. They’ve been judged, and we’re the ones authorized to execute the judgement; it’s part of our heritage in Christ: _*“To execute upon them*_ (Satan and his demons) _*the judgement written: this honour have all his saints. Praise ye the LORD”*_ (Psalm 149:9).

In John 16:11, Jesus said, _*“…the prince of this world is judged”*_; it’s your responsibility to keep him under your feet. That’s why the Bible says to cast him out! You don’t struggle with Satan. The resurrection of Jesus made a champion of you. You operate from a higher realm where your words are backed by Deity.

Even now, address Satan with words of power and break his influence over your town, city, country, home or environment. You’re the one in charge. Use your authority in the Name of Jesus to frustrate and overturn his activities. Jesus gave you all authority in heaven and in the earth (Matthew 28:18-19); use it every day against Satan and the demons of darkness. Glory to God!

*I walk in dominion over Satan and the princes of darkness, because I’m seated with Christ in glory, dominion and power. I reign and rule over circumstances and elements of this world, today and always, because I live in, and by the Name of Jesus. Amen.*
