My Letter on Why Companies Should Hire Offshore Talent like me from South Africa!
23/05/2021.
Hello, my name is Sean Ogilvie, from Benoni South Africa, famous little town or small city, east of Johannesburg. Probably most famous for our two main exports – Charlize Theron (Actress) and Princess Charlene of Monaco, and I suppose a few other not so famous things. We also now have the world’s richest man, albeit not from my town but definitely South African, Elon Musk, and he is a great example of what we South Africans are capable of, and this is exciting and gives all South Africans hope.
SA, has an abundance of talent that mostly goes under-utilized, and that’s a huge pity as we could rule the world, if all our people had a fair chance and employment opportunities.
We used to have one of the best education systems on planet earth, but it has declined over the years which is a travesty. I’m lucky enough to have obtained a great education and love to study to this day and better myself, knowledge wise, spiritually and mentally.
Everybody I meet in our sunny South Africa has great potential and I wish we could all have an opportunity to work for an offshore company. That would be just awesome. Even though I know this dream of mine is a long way off from realization, however positivity is my middle name and I know we will come right in this regard, however long it may take.
Hopefully with some luck and getting all our people into employment, we will have some positive change, and a bright outlook going forward, for the benefit of my beloved country and all its people.
Once you hire a local South African, you will see the difference, we are positive, resolute, determined, undeterred, intelligent, worldly wise, knowledgeable on all world affairs, loving and kind, and I believe this description suits all of us in sunny South Africa. Talking for me now, this is especially true and I believe that I must never give up and always move forward in my quest to be fulfilled and happy in life and in work. A never ending search for knowledge and self-betterment is what I believe is the right path for me to be on.
Focusing on myself, I believe listening and really paying attention to what is required is a top skill of mine and I know this will be an advantage to my career prospects, and all great South African should be able to do this and I know the great ones do.
I hope you liked my little story of South Africa and all of its colourful inhabitants.
Sean Ogilvie.
