Packing sentimental items safely

Some things in our homes can be replaced.
Some things simply can't.

Photographs, children's keepsakes, family heirlooms, handwritten letters, special ornaments or something that belonged to someone we love — these are the things that deserve a little extra care when we're moving. ❤️

Before packing, take a moment to think about what each item means and how vulnerable it is.
Wrap fragile pieces individually.
Use plenty of cushioning and don't leave space for things to move around inside the box.
Keep small pieces together.
If something has a lid, stand, screws or other little parts, secure them together so nothing gets separated during the move.

Photograph precious or valuable pieces before packing.
It's a simple record that can be useful if something is damaged or misplaced.
And perhaps most importantly:
Don't put your truly irreplaceable items in the moving truck.
If something has enormous sentimental value, keep it with you where possible.
You might also want to create a small “special things” box to open early when you arrive. Having those familiar pieces around you can make a new house feel a little more like home.
Because when we're moving, we're not just packing belongings.
We're packing memories.
And those deserve to arrive safely. ❤️

How much money could you be wasting simply because you can't find what you already own?
We've all done it. ❤️
You need something. You can't find it.
So you buy another one.
Then, usually about three weeks later, you discover the original sitting in a cupboard, drawer or box you haven't opened in months. 😂
That's one of the sneaky ways disorganisation costs us money.
When things have a logical home, you can actually see what you have and find what you need.
And that's when organising starts paying you back. 💲
It's not about having a picture-perfect home.
It's about less searching, fewer duplicates, easier shopping and less everyday frustration.
Sometimes the best reason to get organised isn't aesthetic at all.
It's financial.

INSPIRATION COLLECTION | NO. 06 🌿
Beautiful homes begin with small habits.

A beautiful home isn't created in one big organising session.
It's built quietly, through the little things we do every day.

• putting something back when you've finished with it
• clearing the kitchen before bed
• dealing with the mail instead of creating a paper pile
• taking five minutes to reset a room
• hanging something up rather than dropping it on the chair
• noticing when something no longer has a proper home

And these habits don't have to belong to the grown-ups.
Children can be part of it too. ❤️
When playtime is finished, toys can go back into their toy box. Before bedtime, the family can spend five minutes putting things back where they belong.
It doesn't have to be perfect.
It can even be fun.

Small habits can prevent small things from becoming overwhelming things — and when everyone plays a part, keeping a home working becomes something you do together, rather than another job for one person.

And perhaps the biggest habit of all is simply noticing what isn't working — and changing it.

Because your home doesn't need to be perfect.

It just needs to work for you.

Before you hire a moving company…
1. The cheapest quote isn't necessarily the cheapest move.
Look at what the quote actually includes.
Is it a fixed quote or an estimate?
Are stairs, long carries, extra labour, packing materials ie. Blanket to cover your furniture or waiting time included?
2. Ask what happens if something goes wrong.
Not because we're expecting it to — but because a professional company should be able to explain their process clearly. The important question is “Are you insured?”
3. Don't only look at the stars. Look at the reviews.
Especially the bad ones.
How did the company respond when something went wrong? That's often more revealing than twenty five-star reviews saying “great service!”
4. Ask someone who's actually used them.
A personal referral from someone you trust can tell you things a Google review can't.
5. Listen to how they communicate before you've booked them.
Do they get back to you?
Are they answering your questions?
Are they clear?
Do they turn up when they say they will?
Do they seem organised?
If communication is chaotic before moving day, imagine how you feel when the truck is supposed to arrive at 8am and nobody answers the phone.
“You're not just hiring a truck. You're handing strangers the contents of your home.”
“So before you choose your moving company, don't just ask how much. Ask yourself… do I trust these people with my home?” ❤️

TRUST COLLECTION | NO. 6 🌿

It’s more than a tidy room.

When we think about disorganisation, we often think about mess.
Clothes on the floor.
Things left out.
Surfaces that need clearing.
But sometimes a room can be perfectly tidy and still feel… wrong.

The furniture might not be working with the space.
The bed may interrupt the natural flow.
A chair might be taking up valuable space.
Perhaps there is simply too much furniture for the room.
Nothing is necessarily messy — but somehow, the room doesn't feel calm.

And that's where a reset can make a real difference.
Sometimes we don't need to get rid of anything.
Sometimes we simply need to look at the space differently.
Move the bed.
Reposition a piece of furniture.
Create a clearer pathway.
Give the room some breathing space.
Because our homes aren't just places where we keep our belongings.
They are spaces we live, rest and recover in.

And nowhere is that more important than the bedroom.
At the end of the day, your bedroom should help you slow down — not give you another list of things to think about.
A calmer environment can change how a room feels when you walk into it.
And when the room feels calmer, you may find it easier to switch off from the day.

That's why a reset isn't always about removing things.
Sometimes it's simply about putting things in the right place.
And perhaps that's the real difference between a room that is tidy...
and a room that truly works for you.

Your home should support the life you're living — not make life harder. ❤️

Creating Homes People Love Coming Home To ❤️

A home isn't measured by how much it holds.

It's measured by the life it makes room for.

Create space for what truly matters — for calm mornings, shared meals, laughter, connection and the moments you want to remember.

Because less clutter can mean more room for life. ❤️

MOVING COLLECTION | NO. 5 🌿

NOT EVERYTHING BELONGS IN THE SAME BOX. 📦

Before You Pack the Kitchen… ❤️

Use it. Love it. Let it go....then pack what remains.

Think about:

WEIGHT • FRAGILITY • SHAPE

And ask yourself one more question:

“Can I safely lift and carry this box?”

After years of packing and moving, I've learnt that the best box isn't the biggest box you can fill — it's the box you can comfortably manage.

A few simple rules:

🍽️ PLATES — Alternate with bubble wrap and keep the weight manageable.

☕ CUPS & MUGS — Wrap individually and protect those handles.

🥂 WINE GLASSES — Wrap individually, protect the stems and prevent movement.

🔪 KNIVES — Wrap and secure carefully. Safety matters, especially when unpacking.

Small to medium boxes are often easier to carry, stack and unpack.

Don't turn moving day into an unexpected gym session! 😄

Pack thoughtfully. Your future self will thank you. ❤️
