Chapter 7 of the Children’s Act of 2005 dictates that any person managing or operating, or who works with or has access to children either as an employee, volunteer or in any other capacity at an institution providing welfare services to children, including a child and youth care centre, a partial care facility, a shelter or drop-in centre, school, club or association providing services to children must be cleared against the Child Protection Register. Failure to acquire a clearance certificate for any staff can result in criminal prosecution against the employer.

S*xual Offenders Register

The S*xual Offences Amendment Act 2007 dictates that anyone employing staff who will in any way come into contact with children at any time during the time of their employ and anyone who manages them have to be checked and cleared against the S*xual Offences Register. The staff that have to be cleared can be staff that are either paid or not paid (volunteers). This ensures that no staff member who has been convicted of a sexual crime against children can access children through employment. Failure to acquire a clearance certificate for any staff can result in criminal prosecution against the employer.

First Aid US120496 (BLENDED) – Old DOL Level 2

R1000 per candidate

Online – User receives a log in code and completes their course at their own time. Once ready, they book a 4 hour session in which the final exam is administered and the practical is done and evaluated. This course can be finished in as little as 3 days depending on the time the candidate has available. Access to a computer and printer to print their portfolio of evidence is required.

This courses are moderated and sent to SETA for certification. Certificates therefore take a few months to be issued as they are issued by the relevant SETA. Candidate will though receive a Certificate of Completion to give to their employers in the mean time.
