An incident involving cable theft and damage to electrical infrastructure was discovered in Farrarmere, Benoni.

According to the incident report, a CMS reaction officer was travelling through the area during the early morning hours when he noticed damage to a roadside electrical power box.

Upon inspection, the officer discovered that the protective cover had been removed and several electrical cables had been cut and stolen.

The exact quantity and value of the stolen cables could not be determined at the time of reporting.

The incident was logged with the municipality for further attention.

No suspects were identified, and no recovery of the stolen cables was reported.

Upon arrival, the responding officer made contact with the resident, who reported the damaged fencing and suspected intrusion.

However, the officer was unable to independently verify the reported damage during the response.

No items were reported stolen, and no additional property damage was identified by the resident.

The resident indicated that CCTV footage was available if required.

SAPS assistance was not requested.

⚠️ Possible Truck Hijacking & Recovery

A possible truck hijacking and subsequent vehicle recovery were reported in Bredell, Kempton Park.

According to the incident report, a truck believed to have been hijacked in the Springs area was located in separate parts.

The truck's trailer, which reportedly still contained stock, was discovered along First Avenue in Bredell.

The truck's cab was located separately along the R25.

During a routine patrol, a CMS reaction officer encountered security personnel attending to the recovery.

Additional recovery personnel were also present at the scene.

The truck was reportedly linked to a business in Rynfield, Benoni. However, confirmation from the reported owner remained outstanding at the time of reporting.

Both the trailer and truck cab had been located, although the circumstances surrounding the suspected hijacking remained unconfirmed.

No further information regarding the vehicle, cargo or possible suspects was available.

⚠️ Theft, Recovery & Arrest

📍 Apex, Benoni

A theft incident involving the recovery of diesel and the arrest of a suspect was reported at business premises in Apex, Benoni.

According to the incident report, a contractor was stopped for a routine security search while leaving the premises.

During the search, security personnel discovered a five-litre container of diesel concealed inside the individual's backpack.

The contractor reportedly admitted to removing the diesel from a piece of heavy machinery located at another business premises in the area.

CMS received a panic activation and dispatched reaction personnel to investigate.

Upon arrival, the responding officers obtained information regarding the incident and the recovered diesel.

All five litres of stolen diesel were successfully recovered.

The client requested SAPS assistance to pursue a criminal case.

SAPS subsequently attended the scene and **formally arrested the suspect in connection with the theft**.

The value of the recovered diesel was not confirmed.

📍 Brenthurst, Brakpan

A theft incident involving the recovery of a stolen wheelie bin was reported in Brenthurst, Brakpan.

According to the incident report, a resident contacted Community Monitoring Services after locating her stolen wheelie bin at a nearby property, approximately two houses away from her residence.

CMS reaction personnel were dispatched following the report.

During the incident, a further panic activation was received, reporting that an individual suspected of breaking into the premises had been caught.

The report did not confirm whether the apprehended individual was responsible for stealing the wheelie bin.

The resident successfully retrieved the stolen wheelie bin.

The client subsequently confirmed that SAPS assistance was no longer required and that no criminal case would be opened.

The request for police assistance was therefore cancelled.

No formal arrest was confirmed.

⚠️ Break-In & Theft

📍 Hughes, Boksburg

A business break-in involving property damage and the theft of computer equipment was reported in Hughes, Boksburg.

According to the incident report, four suspects gained unauthorised access to the premises during the early morning hours.

The suspects reportedly damaged the property's palisade fencing before proceeding to the office building.

Once at the building, the individuals forced entry by damaging a glass entrance panel.

Three suspects reportedly entered the building while a fourth remained outside.

The suspects subsequently forced their way into office areas and removed several computer monitors.

**A total of four 19-inch computer monitors, valued at approximately R6,000, were stolen.**

CMS received a panic activation and dispatched multiple reaction personnel to investigate.

Upon arrival, the responding officers established that the suspects had already fled.

CCTV footage provided further information regarding the incident.

SAPS was contacted and subsequently attended the scene.

The stolen monitors had not been recovered at the time of reporting.

⚠️ Armed Robbery & Assault

📍 Bapsfontein, Benoni

A serious armed robbery and assault was reported along the R25 in Bapsfontein, leaving a man injured and requiring hospital treatment.

According to the incident report, the victim was walking home from work when he was approached by two unknown suspects.

One of the suspects allegedly produced what appeared to be a fi***rm and demanded the victim's cellphone.

The victim reportedly believed the fi***rm was not genuine and attempted to defend himself.

During the confrontation, the victim was physically assaulted and sustained multiple injuries to his back.

Despite his injuries, he managed to escape and contact someone for assistance.

The suspects reportedly fled with the victim's backpack, which contained his passport.

Community Monitoring Services received a request for assistance and dispatched reaction personnel to the scene.

Emergency medical services attended, provided medical assistance and transported the victim to hospital for further treatment.

SAPS subsequently attended, and the scene was handed over to the responding officers.

No arrests or recovery of the stolen belongings were confirmed at the time of reporting.

⚠️ Shoplifting & Goods Recovered

📍 Farrarmere, Benoni

An attempted shoplifting incident involving clothing and footwear valued at approximately R2,379.88 was reported at a retail store in Farrarmere, Benoni.

According to the incident report, a male individual approached a cashier requesting assistance in finding an item of clothing.

While assisting him, the cashier noticed a woman placing clothing and footwear into a shopping trolley.

A second woman subsequently entered the store, and the suspicious activity was also noticed by an individual passing the premises.

Upon realising they had been observed, the suspects attempted to flee with the merchandise.

A store employee immediately pursued the individuals and managed to recover the shopping trolley and stolen goods.

The suspects subsequently fled the area in a vehicle.

All the reported merchandise, valued at R2,379.88, was successfully recovered.

CMS reaction personnel attended the incident, and the client declined SAPS assistance.

No arrests were reported.
