Maintaining your horses hooves is an important part of your animals health. Hooves like our toe nails, have to be kept trimmed back or their growth makes them frail and uneven. People's balance and spinal health is compromised when not wearing shoes that fit properly. Proper hoof care for horses are as important as wearing proper shoe attire by humans.

The nails / hooves of a horse grows approximately 10mm in five weeks.
A four week maintenance program is essential to ensure the amount of dead sole forming is removed, and this will stop the natural callusing of the live sole.

A trimmer needs to remove the dead sole, however this may cause sensitivity, this sensitivity could be an indication that the trim cycle was too long. You may need to arrange your next appointment at an earlier date.
