Hi friends, please shar3
The past three years have not been easy for me in my business. I have been faced with a debt in carpentry that was caused by financial mismanagement. With much-needed effort, I managed to make progress to reduce the debt; however, I still have an outstanding balance of R350,000 to repay, which is hindering both my business and myself from moving forward.
This has not been an easy journey for me, and as a result, my mental and physical health have been significantly affected. I take full responsibility for my shortcomings and acknowledge that I could have done better.
From today onwards, I am choosing to rise above my circumstances and have decided to take the initiative to start launching “THE FIX AND TEACH” Project, which will be a Community Cupboard Care Project.
1. Project Overview
The project will offer free cupboard maintenance services to:
The elderly community
Child-headed households
Families who have encountered shortfalls (such as fire or floods) resulting in the loss of their furniture
We will also be working towards alleviating the unemployment rate by equipping the youth with carpentry skills, allowing them to learn and make the most of the skills acquired.
This will be my way of serving while simultaneously asking for assistance in the form of donations to help pay off the historical debt and enable my business to reach its goal of being debt-free by the end of November 2026.
By the end of December 2025, I had completed two projects from this initiative, and I must say that if I can operate at this rate, much-needed progress will be made.
2. Free Services Included
The free service will include the following:
Hinge tightening
Door and drawer alignment
Minor repairs
Safety checks
3. Services Requiring Donations for Materials (Labour Still Free)
The following services will still be provided for free in terms of labour; however, donations/funds will be required for materials:
Replacing broken hinges
New handles
New drawer runners
Boards that need replacing
Attending to projects outside my residential town.
Project Implementation Plan....
This is how I intend to work and carry out this project:
Attend at least two to three homes per week while training two young people per every 10 homes (long-term project).
4. What the Youth Will Learn (Hands-On, Straightforward Practical Skills)
Tool handling
Basic cupboard repairs
Customer interaction and respect
Honest earning through basic cupboard maintenance
5. Referral Partnerships
For referrals, I will work closely with:
NGOs
Social workers
Community leaders
6. How the Donations Will Work
The primary purpose of this campaign is to responsibly raise funds to settle an existing business debt of R300,000.
Funds will be used for materials, transport, youth training, operational costs, and debt repayment. Initially, 70% will be used to settle the debt, and 30% will be used to fund the maintenance project. In a long run, all funds will be used to fund maintenance and free carpentry training for youth (including training camps).
Transparency and accountability will guide this work. For this reason, we will use a separate campaign account strictly dedicated to this recovery and community project.
All records (bank statements) will be shared publicly.
7. Gesture of Gratitude – Future Discounts....
As a gesture of gratitude, everyone who donates—even a small amount—will receive a future cupboard discount:
Any donation → 10% discount
R1,000+ → 15% discount
R5,000+ → 25% discount (maximum)
The discount applies to one future cupboard project, is valid for 18 months, non-transferable, and subject to availability.
8. Why Support This Project?
-I made mistakes in managing my business finances, and I take full responsibility for that. Instead of running away or disappearing, I choose to face the situation and do what is right.
-This project allows me to serve the community with dignity while I work to close my debt and rebuild my life honestly.
What happened does not define who I truly am.
My lack of project, financial, and business management skills was exposed when I started taking on too many projects.
I failed to manage them properly, resulting in an unrecoverable debt by using one project to cover another. If you would like more details for better understanding, we can discuss this via DM or WhatsApp.
-I did not disappear from the clients I owed, even though my life was in danger. I temporarily moved to a place of safety and immediately communicated with them, apologized, showed respect, and committed myself to repaying them, although things did not go according to plan. I also honoured the court of law when summoned. I fought hard to reduce the debt from R500,000 to R350,000.
-I am more involved in community work than anything else. I have spent most of my life serving and making a difference in the community—this is my true purpose and passion. By helping me, you will be freeing me to continue serving the community. I genuinely love making a difference, and I believe that with your support, I can achieve this goal.
