WE’RE HIRING – REGISTERED NURSE (PERMANENT POSITION)

The Vrystaat Nasorgsentrum, a registered NPO in Bloemfontein, is looking for a Registered Nurse to join our multi-therapeutic team in a permanent position.

We provide safe and affordable accommodation and occupational development for adults with intellectual disabilities, helping them live with dignity, security, and purpose.

Minimum Requirements:
• B-degree or Diploma in Nursing
• Valid SANC registration
• 5+ years’ experience in Primary Health Care, Mental Health, or Geriatric/Disability Care (advantageous)
• Understanding of Public Health Services and referral systems
• Passion for working with intellectually disabled adults
• Proven management and team leadership skills
• Excellent administration and communication abilities
• Fluent in Afrikaans & English (Sesotho is an advantage)
• Valid Code B driver’s license
• Police Clearance
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work independently and in a team
• Computer literate (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
• Contactable and credible references

The Free State Residential Care Centre

Vrystaat Nasorgsentrum comprises of hostels and protective occupational workshops at 44 Bloemendal Road, Rayton, in the City of Bloemfontein. Currently it is home to 124 residents and ± 13-day workers. The Centre provides appropriate and affordable accommodation and occupational development in a safe environment with 24-hour care to adults with intellectual disabilities. The aim is for beneficiaries to become as actively involved in society as is possible, to live with dignity, security and community, and to experience a life which is meaningful.

The Centre currently has a vacancy for a Seamstress in the Needlework & Art Workshop, reporting to the Senior Instructor in the workshop. The successful candidate will form part of the Needlework and Art team.

Applicants that meet the following criteria are invited to apply for the position:
1. Five or more years’ experience in a needlework environment as a seamstress
2. The ability to read and cut out patterns
3. A relevant qualification in Needlework and clothing design will be an advantage
4. Good interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work with people with disabilities
5. Willingness to work under pressure to make deadlines
6. Be a team player
7. A valid Police Clearance certificate
8. Credible contactable references on relevant work experience will be required
9. Submission of a portfolio of evidence that demonstrates the sewing abilities of the applicant
10. Willingness to work full day
