“For me, becoming isn't about arriving somewhere or achieving a certain aim. I see it instead as forward motion, a means of evolving, a way to reach continuously toward a better self. The journey doesn't end...” – Michelle Obama in her book, Becoming
And just like that… My bow out after five incredible years. Truly the journey doesn’t end, it continues. Thank you to the IAM HER community for showing up, the unwavering support and affirming my purpose. To the many women I’ve crossed paths with, formed beautiful bonds, lifelong friendships, and sisterhoods – thank you. To all the women, new and old to the community, who helped me take the final bow yesterday, I’m grateful. And to everyone who couldn’t physically join me but held me in their hearts, thoughts and lifted me in prayer for the final event, thank you. You all are special to me in many ways than you can imagine.

To the IAM HER community:
- The intentional women
- The women who took the stage with me: Aba Sibanyoni, Tumi Mhlanga and Sharon Rapetswa
- Our sponsors: Loving Touch, Nature’s Shine, Ntokozo Organics, Simply Personalised and Royal Sheruba. And the conference partners – Tsakane Social Market and Inuka by Princess P
- My support behind the scenes
Thank you.

It may be the end of an era, but it is also the beginning of something new and beautiful…

With love and intent
Mandy Ndlazi

Here we are, after five years of curating IAM HER events and bringing women together, in less than 24 hours Blissful Mandy will take her final bow. On the last video of the series, Mandy reflects on the woman she was then, who she is now, and how she has evolved. Listen in!

We are thrilled to have Ntokozo Organics on board, as one of our conference sponsors. Ntokozo Organics offers are range of Yoni steam and soak products, designed to helping women heal their bodies naturally. The woman behind the brand is the multifaceted and dynamic, Bucie Ntokozo Madela, she is also the co-founder (and mixologist) of Sinqobisiwe's Sensational Cocktail Blenders, a local mobile bar service provider. Ntokozo is passionate about women and their feminine health, liberating them and promoting self-care. Ntokozo wears many hats, but our favourite, is her deep support for fellow black women and doing so intentionally.

Priscilla Letwaba is an entrepreneur and brand ambassador of Inuka luxury cosmetic and fragranced products. She prides herself in her business and helping others obtain financial independence. As part of our sponsor and partner profile series, we sat down with Priscilla for a quick chat and to get to know her better.

“Our intention is to groom other women into believing that they can achieve great heights through entrepreneurship, that they don’t have to wait to be hired - but they themselves can create job opportunities for others. Again, to give superior and high customer service.”
1. Who are the women that made you?
I believe in myself - I am my biggest cheerleader. I believe that I was born for greatness and nothing or no one can take that gift away from me. I know, as women, we shy away from affirming ourselves and saying proudly that we are self-made. And I believe that about myself, I am self-made.

2. Who is Priscilla, the woman behind Inuka by Princess P?
I’m the only daughter to my parents, with three brothers – I’m the princess of the family. I’m God fearing, a wife and mother. I love people yet I’m a bit reserved. When I love or do anything that I love, I give it my all.

3. Why did you choose to partner with IAM HER to help deliver the conference?
I choose to partner with IAM HER because it’s a local brand and in so many ways, being part of the IAM HER community helped to groom me into the woman I am today.

4. What do you believe makes your business what it is today?
God is at the core of it all and I believe my customer service makes me different and valued by the people who support me.

5. What brings you joy in your business?
My customers. I’ve met a lot of incredible people throughout my journey, and nothing warms my heart like getting messages of appreciation from my customers, it shows that I’m still on the right track and should continue with what I do. I love my customers. ☺️

6. The moment you…
- Realised you need to heed the call of being an entrepreneur?
I realised in 2019 that I really must honour the call of being an entrepreneur. When one has a dream that keeps them awake day and night – that’s when you know your destiny is calling and you must honour that call.
- Rose up and defied the odds…
In 2020 and 2021, God opened doors during COVID, he made a way for me. After so many years of trying, my breakthrough came during a global crisis and that’s when I knew that God could provide and in any circumstances.

In business, you won’t always be in a honeymoon phase - you must make prayer your no number. Habit. When things didn’t go my way in 2018, I was reminded that my dream is still valid and that with patience, rocky waters will pass.

Giving up is not an option - my daughter cannot have a mom that quits easily. I am a fighter and always remind myself that God knew me before I was formed in my mother’s womb. He says in the book of Jeremiah, “call unto me, I will show you great and mighty things”, so who am to look down on myself - I am enough and I’m walking in power.

As we draw closer to the bow-out and The Intentional Woman Conference, Blissful Mandy speaks about the power to keep going for the past five years. She also speaks about God as her core throughout her journey and the impact she believes IAM HER events created for the community of women she surrounds herself with.

We’d love to hear from you, have you previously attended any of our events in the past five years?

We are thrilled to have partnered with Royal Sheruba, a proudly South African brand, intended to make every woman of colour feel beautiful in their most natural being. Royal Sheruba as a brand, also serves as a beautiful reminder for women to unleash their inner goddess.

When we sat down with Reitumetse Mhlanga for our meet the speaker series, we also grabbed the opportunity to chat her about her brand, Royal Sheruba.

1. Who or what planted the seed for your brand and offering?
The young girl in me planted the seed to start my hair care line. Because my hair type is unusual, especially to 4C type girls, growing up I was teased a lot.

2. Why did you choose to partner with IAM HER to help deliver the conference?
IAM HER is a relatable brand. It speaks to every type of woman, from every economical background. I’m all for women empowerment and the brand embodies that.

3. The moment you…
- Realised you needed to honour the call to start your business or brand?
I honoured the call to start my brand when I saw my niece struggling with her natural hair and I said to myself, “this babe needs my help”. Fast-forward to where she is now and watching her grow confidently because of having the right hair products has been rewarding.

4. What do you believe makes your business and brand what it is?
My brand is proudly African, it has elements, ingredients, and rich tapestries that represent most African countries.

Get to know more about the woman behind Royal Sheruba by clicking on our previous post in the “meet the speaker” series, where Tumi opens up about the woman she is.

The African goddesses joining us on the 3rd of December can look forward to receiving something special in their goodie bags sponsored by Royal Sheruba.
