Congratulations to Interwaste for successfully validating the “Interwaste Landfill Gas Grouped Project” as well as the first project activity instance at FG Landfill under the Verified Carbon Standard (CVS). The FG Landfill project entails the capture and flaring of landfill gas, with the option to produce compressed biogas fuel. Promethium Carbon was proud to assist and we look forward to seeing other landfill gas projects registered under the grouped project structure.

Yesterday Promethium Carbon attended the Extended National Climate Change Committee Workshop. Promethium and Urban-Econ have been appointed to undertake the socio-economic impact assessment of the National Climate Change Adaptation Strategy. Yesterday’s session was the first stakeholder engagement session for this project to identify inter alia risks, costs and benefits associated with the National Climate Change Adaptation Strategy.

The guide provides practical ways for improved business competiveness through energy efficiency and energy management. The event featured a talk on the macroeconomic energy environment in South Africa, the NBI’s plan for energy and energy efficiency initiatives over the next year, and a chapter by chapter description of the EE Guide.
