No matter how good your CV is, it is not the answer to all job-hunting huddles. As much as you work on your CV and make sure that it gets you an interview, you must consider the following factors as well:
1. Your skill set might not be in demand in the job market. The jobs available might not be related to the skills you possess. There might be skills mismatch with the jobs that are available in the job market.
2. The method that you use to apply might be the reason why you are not getting a job faster. If you only depend on the vacancies that are advertised online, the likelihood of getting a job slimmer because there’s high competition competing for few available jobs.
3. How you handle your interviews might also be a huddle in getting a job faster. Employers hire people they think they can work with easily, people who can impress them in the first few minutes of the interview.
4. Your references have to be people who will be able to speak positively about your skills and abilities. If they don’t know much about you, they might not be convincing in motivating your application.
What do you think of these pointers? Do you agree or disagree?
