You’ve probably noticed this without really thinking about it. 🤔 WiFi feels strong in one room, then a bit weaker just a few steps away?

That’s because signal strength naturally drops as it travels further, especially through walls, floors, and different materials in your home.

It’s completely normal, but in larger spaces or certain layouts, it can leave some areas with less reliable coverage than others. 🛜

That’s where a mesh setup comes in. Instead of relying on a single router or separate access points, it uses multiple nodes that work together as one network, helping your devices stay connected as you move around your home.

Sometimes it really is that simple.

If your WiFi starts acting a little strange, slower than usual, dropping here and there, or just not behaving like it normally does, a quick reboot (power nap) is sometimes all it needs. 💤

It’s not fancy, but it works more often than you’d expect. 😉
..still struggling after a reboot? Chat to us on WhatsApp and we’ll help you get to the bottom of it. 💬

At home, it’s never just one thing happening online. 👀

Work calls, schoolwork, streaming, scrolling, a bit of everything happening at once, often in the same room. 🌪

It’s not just about being connected anymore, it’s about having a setup that can keep up with how people actually use it every day.

WiFi didn’t always come in two flavours.

🛜 Most WiFi networks today use two frequency bands: 2.4GHz and 5GHz.

Back in the late 90's, when WiFi first started becoming a thing, 2.4GHz was the standard. It stuck around because it travels further and handles walls well, which made it practical for everyday use at home.

The catch? It got busy.

A lot of everyday devices still use 2.4GHz, things like smart plugs 🔌, TVs 📺, speakers 🔉, baby monitors 📱, and other smart home tech. So at times it can feel crowded and a bit slower.

Then 5GHz came along in the early 2010's. It brought faster speeds and less interference, but with a trade-off - it doesn’t travel as far and weakens more quickly through walls and thick barriers.

So today, both still have a role:
✅ 2.4GHz → better range, more consistent across the home
✅ 5GHz → faster speeds, best when you’re closer to the router

It’s not about choosing one over the other. It’s about using the right one for where you are and what you’re doing.

Working from home puts your connection to the test every day. 💻

Teams calls, messages, project deadlines - everything depends on a reliable connection that just works in the background.

When it’s stable, you don’t think about it. When it’s not, it tends to interrupt more than just one thing. A reliable setup doesn’t just help with speed, it helps the whole day run more smoothly. 😉

They’re often used interchangeably, but they’re not quite the same thing. 🤔 Think of it like this:

Water comes into your home from outside via the main municipal line, supplying the property. You then use it where you need it, by opening taps in the kitchen or bathrooms. 💧

Your internet works in a similar way.

The internet is the connection coming into your home.
WiFi is how that connection is shared wirelessly throughout your home and to your devices. 🛜

So while they’re part of the same setup, they play different roles. That’s why your experience can vary depending on where and how you’re connected.
