This was a proud moment. To finally have in-depth knowledge of wine origins. The learning has not ended. It’s only the beginning.

I just want to elaborate on the drinking reaponiibly part.

So we normally drive to the wine farms which are a distance away from home. And we then drink but during the drinking there’s always water and coffee.

The rule of thumb is that for every glass of wine you need to have 2 glasses of water. This is to prevent dehydration.

Before we drive home we would normally have a cup of coffee and if they have a restaurant having dessert with coffee will help.

When you get home flush the system with water before you go to bed. If you feel that you over did it take 2 panados before you sleep this will help you not get a bhabhalaz the next day.

You can also opt for an Uber or have a designated driver.

Don’t drink on an empty stomach.

My moments with wine
I have drank wine by myself, with friends, family, colleagues and with strangers. There’s wine for a hot summers’ day as well as for a cold winter night. It’s a versatile drink.

Welcome to my wine page where we share all things relating to wine.

Apologies for not being active on this page but from now onwards I promise I will share as much as I can with you.

I came to work in Cape Town in 2013. I fell in love with its beautiful landscape as well as its wines.

And I also didn’t know much about wine I think I drank 4cousins which most of you are familiar with but I then started visiting wine farms and doing tastings and my first love was the Merlot which is a dry red wine.

Now my drink of choice is Cabernet Sauvignon especially from R45 in Stellenbosch and trust me a beautiful glass makes the taste even more beautiful.

I want this page to be as interactive as possible. Please share your journeys as well about anything relating to wine.

Most importantly though let’s enjoy this drink responsibly. I look forward to sharing wine with you.
