🚨 ILLEGAL CRAYFISH BUST | ATHLONE 🚨

On 28 January 2026, our TRT was notified by SAPS Flying Squad, Cape Nature City Of Cape Town regarding a residence in the Athlone area allegedly involved in the illegal sale of crayfish.

Our TRT immediately linked up with all role players, received a full briefing, and executed the planned approach.

The residence was raided, where 9 x bags of whole crayfish were discovered. Two suspects found on the premises were arrested for illegal possession and dealing and handed over to Manenberg SAPS for further investigation and processing.

👏 Excellent joint operation and solid teamwork.
Well done to all parties involved in protecting our marine resources and enforcing the law.

🚨 ILLEGAL CRAYFISH INTERDICTION – ZERO TOLERANCE 🚨

In the early hours of 22 January 2026, just before 01H00, actionable intelligence was received regarding a vehicle allegedly transporting illegal crayfish tails.

Without hesitation, ST3 Security’s Tactical Response Team (TRT) mobilised and executed a rapid intercept operation. A joint deployment was immediately coordinated with the SAPS Flying Squad.

📍 The suspect vehicle was positively identified and intercepted on the N2 near Gordon’s Bay.

🚔 VEHICLE SEARCH – POSITIVE HIT
The search confirmed large-scale illegal possession:
31 x bags containing 200 crayfish tails per bag
116 additional crayfish tails still carrying eggs
❌ Blatant and serious violation of marine conservation laws
⚠️ This was not subsistence-level crime — this was commercial poaching aimed at profit, with zero regard for sustainability or the law.

👮 OPERATIONAL OUTCOME:
Suspect arrested on scene
Suspect conveyed to SAPS Gordon’s Bay
DAFFE inspectors responded to:
Conduct official counting
Institute charges for illegal possession of crayfish
Suspect vehicle seized and booked under SAPS 13 as evidence

🚨 TACTICAL ARREST | JACARANDAS, NEETHLINGSHOF 🚨
17 January 2026 | ±22:00

At approximately 22:00, ST3 Security Tactical Response Team was alerted to a male suspect attempting to scale a wall in Jacarandas, Neethlingshof Street.
When confronted by a tow truck crew, the suspect turned violent, assaulting a female by grabbing her on the chest through the vehicle window.

🚔 ST3 Tactical Units responded immediately.
Upon arrival, the suspect fled on foot.

⚠️ A high-intensity foot pursuit followed, with tactical members coordinating ground pursuit and vehicle interception.

📍 The suspect was cornered and apprehended near the Langverwacht Engen Circle.

👮 ST3 Tactical Team acted as the arresting officers and handed the suspect over to Kuils River SAPS.

📂 Charges: Assault

This incident sends a clear message:
❌ Violence against the public will not be tolerated
❌ Criminal behaviour will be confronted
❌ Flight will not prevent arrest

🚨 MAJOR TRT PATROL UPDATE – SONEIKE AREA 🚨
ST3 SECURITY | Tactical Response Team

📅 16 January 2026
During routine TRT patrols in the Soneike area, our Tactical Response Team identified a concerning increase in house break-in incidents within specific hotspot streets.

🛑 PROACTIVE ACTION TAKEN
Instead of vehicle-only patrols, our TRT members parked the vehicle and deployed on foot patrols in known high-risk streets where break-ins frequently occur.
The team split up deliberately to avoid drawing attention and to remain tactical and observant.

👀 SUSPICIOUS ACTIVITY OBSERVED
While patrolling Van Bruggen Street, Soneike, one TRT member noticed two unknown individuals approaching.
Upon spotting the officer, the suspects dropped the items they were carrying and attempted to jump over nearby walls to escape.

⚠️ PHYSICAL CONFRONTATION
One suspect was caught and engaged by the TRT member
The second suspect joined the altercation, attempting to overpower the officer
The second TRT member arrived immediately to assist
Despite a strong response, both suspects managed to flee by jumping multiple walls.

✅ SUCCESSFUL RECOVERY
✔️ Stolen property was recovered on scene
✔️ Items were handed over to SAPS upon their arrival

🚨 VEHICLE RECOVERED – KUILSRIVIER 🚨
Last night, 15 January 2026, our control room received reports of a Hijacked motor vehicle in the area.
Our TRT (Tactical Response Team) was immediately dispatched to the latest tracking coordinates.
The vehicle was successfully located and recovered in Nagtegaal Street, Amandelsig, Kuilsrivier.
Unfortunately, no suspects were found on scene upon arrival, but the vehicle was secured and handed over to the relevant parties.
👏 Well done to our TRT for their rapid response and effective coordination.
ST3 Security remains committed to protecting our community and recovering stolen assets.

🚨 INCIDENT UPDATE | ROAD SAFETY NOTICE 🚨

At approximately 20H50, our Control Room received information regarding an HVMA where a vehicle had reportedly driven off a bridge in Kraaifontein.
Our Tactical Unit was immediately dispatched to investigate and render assistance where applicable.
Upon arrival, Provincial Traffic was already on scene. It was established that the incident involved a head-on collision between a bus and a bakkie. Fortunately, no serious injuries were reported or found.
EMS attended to all parties involved and provided the necessary medical treatment. The road was temporarily closed to allow for the safe removal of the bus from the bridge.
